“Museum stop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014

This is where you find several Stockholm's museums. VASA, ABBA, Nordisca, ZOO. If you plan on coming here I suggest taking a ferry from Slussen and then walking back along one of the finest avenues in Stockholm. Alltogether that was a very nice half day trip.

“Skansen in the Djurgarden”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

We had taken a boat tour on Stockholm and gone around the island that is the Djurgarden. We walked to the island the next day and went to Skansen, an outdoor musuem of over 150 buildings. There is also an aquarium, a zoo, and a children's petting zoo. A must see is the bakery where they still bake by hand and make delicious pastries. I could smell the bakery one block away and had to sample three different pastries. The variety of buildings is very interesting, but unfortunately many of them are not open on weekdays. The park has people who play roles appropriate to the building they are connected with and are glad to answer questions. An outdoor stage is used for folk music and dancing. After the first couple of dances, the dancers request people from the audience to join them in dancing. There is a large theater for outdoor concerts. The terrain is very rugged in sections, so good walking shoes are a must, lots of cobblestones. The zoo features animals native to Scandinavia. Skansen is an easy place to spend an entire day.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

It is a real pleasure to walk to each of the attractions of this island.
Museums and parks give this place a special glamour:Nordiska museum, Vasa museum,ABBA museum,Grona Lund,Skansen open museum.
Nice restaurants and coffee shops add more charm to this zone.

“A gem of a park with something for everyone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

Spending a Saturday morning in this park, with many hundreds of local people, who were enjoying family picnics, weddings and time out with their children was wonderful. The place was buzzing with excitement. We looked around the town section and visited the Scandinavian animals, we passed the zoo and other parkland areas and enjoyed Fika in a small cafe, sitting in a little courtyard whilst blue tits and sparrows hopped around us and geese and goslings walked around our feet. A lovely place and easy to combine a visit here with the Vasa museum and the Abba museum, which are all in the same area. Entrance is included on the Stockholm Card. No 7 tram takes you all the way from T Central.
