The Swedes care about everything they do. It is one of their most admirable traits. I am an animal rights activist, sometimes militant, and even I am impressed with this animal park. Why? Because the animals appear happy, exceptionally well tended, physically fit and the attendants are true stewards of these wild creatures.

This may not be the most "exciting" (and I mean that in a derogatory manner) but it is the most ethical and therefore most "impressive" zoo, I have ever seen. Like all things Swedish, it is understated and sophisticated.

I am conflicted recommending any zoo but if you must; this is a great one.

The park is beautiful, lots of people of all ages, grounds for picnic, and an excellent cafe-restaurant guarantee a great time. Definitely worth a visit.

One of the "must sees" of Stockholm. I would see Djurgarden on every visit to the city. The site of 2 of the best museums, as well as a beautiful park.

day of St marathon, so tram 7 did not go. we had to walk all the way. Skansen is a spacious open air museum with real buidings, gardens, crafstmen, animals etc.
good for adults and kids, entrance looks a bit run down, but look beyond and it gets better. depending on time of season and day stuff is closed or open.
aquarium was better than I had expected, though a bit small. saw it within an hour!
Waldemarsudde was superb, excellently built and layed out. nicely decorated with furniture and paintings. most inviting palace or mansion seen while at St!! great piece of artful building. perfect views to downtown too, looking from back room through all doors to frontroom and beyond to waterfront. garden lay out just superbly matching the house.

This is where you find several Stockholm's museums. VASA, ABBA, Nordisca, ZOO. If you plan on coming here I suggest taking a ferry from Slussen and then walking back along one of the finest avenues in Stockholm. Alltogether that was a very nice half day trip.
