“Nice palace and great change of guards "show"!”
Reviewed 24 May 2014 via mobile

You must go there at round 12pm to watch the change of guards.
It is really nice and it lasts for approximately 40 minutes.

Go a bit earlier than that so that you get a good spot for a nice view.

The royal palace is in the old town so there are plenty of things to do around!

“Impressive”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

If you have the time visit the Royal Palace, gives you an insight into the Swedish Royal Family. The state rooms were impressive, you can't take any photographs inside, but the gift shop sells books or post cards. The Tre Kroner museum gives a history of the palace, we nearly missed it we were on way out when we spotted sign leading down some stairs. You can do the Palace on your own as we did but there were guided tours. An interesting and worthwhile visit.

“Nice place to venture out of the city.”
Reviewed 20 May 2014 via mobile

This is a nice palace to visit if you're looking to visit some place outside of the city. It's not that impressive of a palace if you've been to other palaces in Europe. The Peterhoff in St Petersburg is much more impressive.

“You need a plan as there is so much to see. Don't miss the Changing of the Guard”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

There are many marvelous aspects to this palace with an incredible amount of history. It is a clear example of the power of Sweden in the Baltic in the !7th and18th centuries. Make sure you allow at least 2 1/2 hours to see everything. You can see it on your own as the signage is very good but if you have time, I recommend the guided tour.

Two warnings. You cannot take any pictures inside the palace and WCs are at a premium. Make sure you use the one at the gift store/ticket center before you go in as there are none in the palace.

The Royal Apartments and Treasury were my favourites. The extent and richness of the apartments is really something. The Treasury, while small has some really amazing pieces. The Tre Kronor museum takes you into the Medieval history of the palace which I found fascinating but others may not. Gustav III Antiquities takes about 10 minutes

DO NOT MISS THE CHANGING OF THE GUARD at noon. For the best view, stand on the gift shop side and get there at least 15 minutes early. The military band is first rate and while not as grand as Buckingham Palace, is a great sight

The whole palace is highly recommended.

We watched the changing of the guard and also did the tour of the Palace. Truly breathtaking inside - very grand indeed. If you're thinking of going to Stockholm, think of going here!!
