Owner description: The Vasa ship capsized and sank in Stockholm 1628. After 333 years on the sea bed the mighty warship was salvaged and the voyage could continue. Today Vasa is the world's only preserved 17th century ship and the most visited museum in Scandinavia.

“Amazing Restoration work”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

Great restoration work for us to see.
Lots of history and a good insight of a great tall ship that failed to sail :-(
The size of the ship is amazing just won't fit in one picture frame
Must see if you are in town.

“Unexpectedly good.”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

This was an unplanned stop with family. A very busy and well presented museum with lots of information and artefacts about the ship, besides which is the almost complete remains of the ship itself. It will entertain kids as well as adults, and there are multilingual guided tours, I heard Swedish, English, German and Russian... Definitely worth a look if you have an hour or two, even more so if it's raining outside, as it's all indoors.

Its a must go for all museum lovers.
Very unique museum, lets everyone have a perspective of the Swedish history of 18th & 19th century. Its well-maintained thoroughly educating and entertaining as well. 2 hours well-spent inside the museum.

“If you only go to one museum in Stockholm make it this one!”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

I have long wanted to visit the Vasa and it lived up to my expectations. It is fascinating as what they learnt about preserving waterlogged wood for this 17th century ship was then applied to the Mary Rose. The amount of preservation and the decorative features are just amazing. The disabled access and toilets are great too.
