the hotel is really close to almost everything. So the best about this hostel is it's location on GamlaStan. I stayed in a single room it was cute and linen was included to the price. You should still care about having your own towel. The bath and toilets are shared. Free wifi is good. Rooms are clean. You can serve yourself a light breakfast.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that looks into the street. You'll have a cute look at the sea

We stay in this hostel together with our three kids, so we slept in 5-beds room. The room was clean and big enough, however it was located on the fifth floor, while the elevator can reach only third floor... so we had to pull all our baggage through steep and narrow steps.
The location of the hostel is great: we were able to walk to Central station, Stadthouse and Djurgarden, and the Gamla Stan with all its touristic places was just near the door!

My friend and I were very satisfied with this hostel, having both stayed in a fair few before now. It is a clean and well maintained shelter in an excellent central location. It is about 15-20 minutes walk from the main transport station which links the airport by bus and train, along with loads of other destinations. We booked at late notice and the staff sent clear instructions by email detailing how to gain access to the building late at night. Great view over the water from our room on the third floor.

The cooker hob didn't seem to work very well for us and others who cooked there one evening. Breakfast could be better - just some cornflakes-esque cereal was on offer which tasted a bit flat and stale like cardboard. Maybe some porridge would've been better! White bread for toasting also available. Our room had some kind of air blower that was quite loud coming into the room above a cupboard. I got used to it by the second night so didn't find it too disturbing. The guy snoring next to us was worse!

Room Tip: Ask for a room looking over the water at the front of the building

Stockholm is an expensive place. Particularly in the stunning old town.
Well this place is in the old town, & it is affordable! We had an en-suite twin room for less than £80 for the night.

It's a hostel. There is no getting away from that. You have to hire towels. Breakfast is serve yourself & limited to toast & cornflakes. You have to make your own bed, including putting the duvet in the cover (& returning the laundry back when you check out). No TV in the rooms. However, this was all we were looking for.

The place feels secure. There are coded entrance doors & swipe card access. Additionally CCTV. However Stockholm hardly feels threatening, & this hostel is in a very nice part of the city.

Rooms fairly comfortable. Warm when required. Beds comfortable. Everything very clean.

Dining area very big & you are able to cook for yourself.

Free internet near reception & free WiFi throughout.

One vital tip - look out for the block that it is in (block 22), as it is very easy to miss the front door, & then you have to go up 2 floors (stairs or elevator).

If you don't mind top-end hostels, then this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Request the double room 201 at the front of the building, next to the kitchen. Some friends stayed i...

Likes:

* location, location, location. This hostel is located in Gamla Stan (Old Town) which is really a very fun neighbourhood to be in! All its little streets are filled with bars, restaurants and shops and it's very central, so within walking distance of the rest of the city.

* the labyrinth-like style of the place. When they warn you you might get lost trying to find your room the first time, they aren't kidding. It's got a very homely feel to it.

* the breakfast. It's not much, but it has the basics, which was all we needed.

* the shower. Hands down the best shower I've ever had in a hostel!

Dislikes:

* we had booked a private ensuite, to at least have a little more privacy and peace and quiet than we normally have in hostels. But while the room itself was okay and very clean, they fail to mention in the description that some of them are located right in the middle of the common room. Our room, for example, was right behind the TV so you can basically forget about actually sleeping while there's people in the common room. And let's face it, there are virtually *always* people in the common room. The hostel tries to enforce quiet time after 10pm, and a member of staff does come round I think, but we got woken up at 2 or 3am because of people barging in and turning on the TV.

* the beds aren't the most comfortable I've ever slept in. They are extremely soft, and they put some kind of thin mattress on top which keeps moving and it just annoying. I ended up with a backache.

Overall, this wasn't exactly cheap for a hostel (but nothing in Stockholm is) but the fact that we got stuck with which was arguably the worst room in the place just didn't make it worth it.

One of the best hostels in Europe. The location is great; in the old part of Stockholm. Part of the charm of the place is the warren-like layout of the place (you'll probably get lost at first) and homely paintings dotted here and there throughout the building.
Can't comment on the dorm rooms but the private en-suite was spotless and really comfortable. The staff were great; friendly and helpful.
The only drawback was the the kitchen situation. While there are three different kitchens in which to prepare your meals, they were crowded, especially at the cooker.
There were computers with internet access beside reception.
It's an easy walk to the hostel from the bus station if you don't have much luggage.
It's not cheap but nowhere is in Stockholm so in the end it's worth it.
