“good place to stay, reasonable price too”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2012

Hotell Arstaberg was a great place to live in in stockholm. It's convenient by train and you can get a 24hour pass for taking public transport in stockholm. it's easy to transfer from the central station which is where you'll probably be passing by all the time. it's also good to live in if you have heavy/big luggages because there is a lift in the hotel and no stairs from the train station to the hotel. room was clean and very comfortable, very decent bathroom as well. i stayed here for 2 nights and it was a great stay with reasonable prices. receptionists are very helpful as well.

The hotel is in a quite convenient location. From central station, you just need to take the commuter train for 2 stops. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, so you can pretty much get good rest. Of course there is not much around either. I didn't look for restaurants or convenient shops so I am not sure how far they could be. But you can always buy stuff from central station and bring back.

Room is clean, and actually bigger than I expected with the price range and European standard. Bathroom was nice and big as well. Furniture is limited but all in good shape. Staff are friendly and helpful. I arrived quite late (close to midnight), the hotel staff was actually waiting for me with an evelope, which has the room key, hotel entrance code, and wifi password.

There is a small canteen with fridge and microwave.

The hotel is located right next to the station, which is 2 stops from Stockholm central. Our room was comfortable however there were a few stains on the carpet which was not so inviting. The bathroom was clean and looked relatively new. This is a basic hotel and you will need to bring your own shampoo and soap unless you want to use the hand soap. There is a shared kitchen area with fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle and a comfortable seating area which is a bonus if you do not wish to eat out for every meal. There is not much in the area of restaurants, we ended up eating most of our meals in the city. However, for the price of the hotel compared to others in the city I would stay again.

We spent 5 nights in Hotell Arstaberg. We chose it because it offered what seemed to be reasonable comfort for about 70 Euros a night per double room. And we chose well:
- clean room and shower, LCD TV in room
- great location: right outside the hotel there are bus and commuter train stops, Stockholm Central Station is two stops away by train
- friendly staff, always positive and willing to help with answers and suggestions

The hotel is located very close to the Arstaberg train station, and less than 10 minutes away from Stockholm centre. Nonetheless the train doesn't run that often and the last train back to the hotel leaves the central station just after midnight. So if you want to party or be in the middle of town this is not the place for you.
Good reasons for staying here cleanliness and friendly staff. In general, this is good value for your money. There is also a kitchen if you want to cook your own meals. I will recommend this place for families or people with their own cars.

In a city of expensive hotels, it was good to find this more reasonably priced alternative. Clean, friendly, safe with good transport links. No meals but kitchen available. Free wifi.

Room Tip: Railway at the back of the hotel / road at the front but neither so noisy that you will lose sleep...
