The rooms are tiny (really tiny), but nice. I loved this hotel. Its situated on the main street in Gamla Stan, has a lovely staff and a nice, quirky feeling to it.

Well this is certainly a different hotel. Not your average chain hotel. There’s certainly nothing exactly like it either in Stockholm or (I would dare say) anywhere. You will certainly be aware of who Lord Nelson was when you leave and will have been bombarded from all angles by naval memorabilia. I thought it was great and although there must be hundreds and hundreds of ‘things’ dotted around the hotel, somehow it all works and avoids coming across as fussy. The dark blue colour scheme that pervades the hotel helps. Each room is named after a ship and inside each room is a model of that ship recessed into the wall. A nice touch!.. What I can’t ignore about the rooms of course is their miniscule size. It was only when I arrived back to the room a little while ago and tried to open out my umbrella to allow it to dry that I realised it was not possible! That shows the size of the room. Despite that, think of the room as a cabin (not hard to do given the snug fit, a porthole on the bathroom door and the fact the room door opens outwards into the corridor) and you should be OK. Actually, the little space has been utilised to the full and there’s some lovely touches including quality solid furniture and a lovely wooden floor. The bed, in my opinion was superb and although only a single in my case, was good quality. Poorly placed lighting meant that even with both lights on, the room was dark (lighting up this little space shouldn’t have been difficult!) The view was limited (this would be true for most of the rooms which look out of the side of the building onto a narrow alley, the other side of which you could almost touch) With this in mind, it was a pity the room did not have net curtains or some kind of blinds as you really were overlooked. As I write this, a nice smily lady is looking directly at me from the window opposite. Breakfast is fine (the usual continental selection), though I gather that few guests actually eat it. Certainly on the two days I have been here, I have been the only one there. Location is right in the thick of it half way along the busiest street in Gamla Stan. This could I suppose be either a positive or a negative. There was some noise though nothing bad. This is a family owned hotel, and it shows. The welcome is a warm one, though not in a way that is overwhelming, just straight forward, matter of fact yet friendly. Whether it is for you is a different matter as staying here does involve some compromises. I would rate it a better hotel than the similarly located Rica Hotel just up the road. Having got a good deal from an online agent I was perfectly happy, though this was only just over half the rate quoted elsewhere. At a similar (or slightly higher) price I would certainly go back the next time I’m in Stockholm.

This was my first stay at this cosy and wellsituated small B & B in Stockholms gamla stan (old town). Yes, the singelrooms ARE small but alright for a single traveller, and it's very convenient situated for great walks around Stockholm. The roomrate was also okay, and the room was fairly comfortable but I'm happy that I'm not having overweight because if the room is tight. it's nothing compared with the bathroom (shower). Well, anyway it's personally decorated, small, simple but nice breakfast and very, very calm. The hotel has no restaurant but there's plenty of them just around the corner. If you like to try interesting beers from swedish micro-breweries, try Glenfiddich Warehouse on the same street just close to Lord Nelson.
Will I stay here again? Probably...I liked it!

Stayed here four nights for business reasons. Room are absolutely tiny! But I have no need for more space. All you can need is there. Clean and big enough bathroom. Small tv. Writingdesk, hairdryer. One funny part is that the next house is one meter or so from your window. The alley outside is, as everywhere in the Old Town, very narrow. Look on the bright side and get to know the swedish habits, how the lokals live their lives! Breakfastroom small but never crowded. Staff friendly and helpful and cleaning very efficient. Will stay here again.
