A family owned boutique hotel stuffed full of whacky object d’art. It took us just ten minutes to walk from the main railway station pulling our cases, much better than the £17 quoted taxi service from the station! A very friendly welcome from the receptionist.
We were in room 11 on the first floor. A long thin room facing the street. Two single beds which were end to end as this was the only way they would fit!
In common with most reported rooms there was almost no drawers to put things in but there was a small hanging space.
Despite being at the front of the hotel we found no major disturbance from street noise of the nearby church bells but that might have been because of the ear plugs!
A compact modern bathroom was more than adequate and a problem with a blocked bathroom sink was quickly dealt with whilst we were out for dinner.
Free, 24/7 tea and coffee making facilities on each floor plus a welcome ice machine.
A great buffet breakfast for such a small hotel.
As our long weekend continued we more and more appreciated what a great location this hotel was.
