“Wonderful Stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2014

Stayed during midsummer holiday for 4 nights and used the hotel as a base to explore the city from. Loved the rooms, which were roomier than many in Sweden, the lovely decor, and most especially loved the executive lounge. It was comfortable, well staffed with very courteous and attentive personnel, and made us feel like we had something unique each day with their many options for breakfast, afternoon cocktails, and light dinner/desserts/coffees. We really only needed a mid day snack or light lunch each day out of the hotel. It was the perfect meeting place for friends who were traveling with us each day to meet and return to each night. I would highly recommend the executive king rooms which have been remodeled and are lovely. Our view overlooking the bridges to Gamlastan was beautiful, especially at 2 am in the bright twilight. The only thing I would add is a little more ventilation in the design of tiny, but very nice, bath area which gets very steamy and needs to air out a bit quicker. We did eat at the hotel in the restaurant and had a nice organic meal with gluten free options which was good, but pricey as is most everywhere in Stockholm. The lounge was very nice with beautiful views, good seating and service, with music that was contemporary but not too loud. The outdoor bar had some city road construction going on around it and since it was very chilly in the evenings, we did not use it, but stayed inside at the bar where it was warm. The hotel is very convenient to bus/train/boat travel which is located within a couple blocks away, and we had no trouble getting luggage to the train station for our return flights. Highly recommend this little oasis in a bustling adventurous city!

Room Tip: Executive suites are fabulous and bigger than most with lake views.

This hotel is in a central location with most of Stockholm attraction within easy walking distance. At the time we were there a construction site was close by which made it a little inconvenient getting in and out of the hotel. That aside this is a good hotel to stay with nice bedrooms with comfortable beds and a good breakfast. Our room was right over four busy railway tracks and a freeway but no noise made into the bedroom.

Room Tip: As stated our room was over the railway line and freeway with no noise so with that in mind all the...

Thank you for choosing our hotel when so far away from home, and also for taking your valuable time to write us a review.

We are very happy to read that you have enjoyed your stay and the location of our hotel.
The construction site that you mention is unfortunately out of our control, but we work closely with the city of Stockholm to minimize any disturbance/inconvenience to our guests accessing the hotel.

We hope to see you with us again, if you find your way back to Stockholm from the other side of this planet.

The double room had an excellent view across the old town. The bed was very comfortable with two singe duvets rather than one double; couples might need to be aware of this. The black out blinds did an excellent job at keeping the daylight out (we stayed in mid June when the hours of daylight are very long) meaning the sleep quality was excellent. The expresso machine in the room was excellent. On a less positive note, it would have been helpful to have space for luggage and the size and layout of the bathroom was cramped. The toiletries were not replenished every day and we returned one afternoon to find only one bathrobe rather than the usual two.

The check in was a bit slow and the keycard for the lift looked worn out but perfectly functional.

The Executive Lounge had a good selection of sweet and savoury food which included some regional specialities such as meatballs and seafood. There was no ice available in the afternoon. PC's were not available meaning we had to use our own gadgets.

The breakfast in the main restaurant was the usual Hilton fare although the selection of hot food was somewhat limited in comparison to other Hiltons.

Overall, a very good stay.

Thank you for taking the time and write a review of your stay with us.
It was a pleasure to read that you enoyed so many aspects of our services.

Our apologies for that you only received one bathrobe after cleaning. This was clearly a mistake and we hope you contacted our Guest Service so they could bring you another one.

Our free to use PC's are located in the lobby area rather than the Business Lounge, sorry if you did not find them. But from your comment I understand you made good use of the free WiFi instead.

We wish you a really good summer and hope to see you with us soon again.

My husband stayed a the Hilton Stockholm Slussen on business and I joined him later in the week. The rooms are a nice size and comfortable. The location is VERY central - within walking distance (minutes) from beautiful historic Gamlastan. A short walk to many great restaurants in the area and minutes from Slussen station if you are wanting to venture further out into Stockholm. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious. So much variety that I didn't need to eat lunch after a breakfast here.

The only couple of minor challenges during the visit was that the room had a wobbly chair in the room when my husband arrived and it took 4 attempts to have the hotel fix the chair. A minor thing but nonetheless, 4 attempts not ideal for a hotel of this class. Also, we were in a room close to the executive lounge on the 4th floor and it was a little noisy around 5-6am. I'm a light sleeper so it got me up - just a minor thing. Ask for a room away from the executive lounge if you are a light sleeper too. Other than that, a nice stay.

Sounds like you had a very nice time in Stockholm with good sightseeing.
Happy to read you found our hotel suitable for your needs.

Our apology for not being able to fix your chair immediately. I can assure you that this is extremely unusual and I will investigate further to understand the situation and make sure we find a permanent fix.

Would be great to see you back with us upon your next business- or leisure trip to Stockholm

I was expecting a hotel that was a little more upscale. This is very nice but the rooms are quite small. Lovely view. Service at breakfast was mixed. Ran out of some foods and they were very slow to replace it. Gone all day and room was being cleaned when I returned. Have to say that it is more than adequate, great location, but not fancy.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a water view.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay with us.
Very happy to read that overall you were satisfied with your stay, but sorry to hear we did not live up to your full expectations.

Room size is an overall concern when comparing hotels in northern Europe/Scandinavia to many other parts of the world and especially Northern America. That is one of the reasons why we are very upfront with room size on all our room types.

Your comments about the replenishment of items on the breakfast buffet are forwarded to the breakfast team and they will use your feedback to try and find ways to work faster and more efficient.

Thank you for your honest opinions and once again our apologies for not fully delivering your expectations this visit.

We hope that you will give us another chance on your next visit to Stockholm.

During my stay of about a week, my luggage didn't arrive (BA flights from USA via Heathrow). I got my suitcase after returning to the U.S.!?! Hotel personnel called ARN Airport many times every day to check if they found my suitcase. Everyone felt sorry for me and was nice to me during my stay. Thanks. Prof. Dr. T. Timothy Myoda

We have just returned from 5 nights at the Hilton Stockholm (myself, my husband, two children aged 4 and 15 and another couple). The hotel is large and quite busy, but we had no delay checking in. The accommodation is spread across 3 blocks - basic, posh and very posh. I booked 3 queen rooms - these were the cheapest, basic type and were quite small with a queen size bed, limited storage space and no bath just a shower. However, they are perfectly adequate for a short stay if you plan to be out and about most of the time (as we were), and have a safe, Wifi, TV, fridge (although beware of moving anything to put your own stuff in because you will be charged for it). Bottled water is provided free of charge, although there is no real need for it as the tap water is fine to drink. The rooms are supposed to have air conditioning, but while we were staying it was not working properly and opening the windows lets in street noise. We told reception about this and we were upgraded to deluxe rooms. These rooms were quite a bit larger with a nice view, had a bath as well as a shower, more storage space, bigger beds and a bit more furniture, also the a/c was working! The hotel has a decent gym and a sauna, a business centre behind reception where you can print off boarding passes free of charge and a bar with a nice outdoor area with good views of the sunset. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was very good, setting us up for a full day of sightseeing.

The location of this hotel was my main reason for booking it. A 5 minute walk across the bridge brings you to the Old Town with its cobbled streets and picturesque buildings. A 20 - 30 minute walk will get you to Djurgarden with the Vasa Museum, Skansen, Gronalund, Junibacken, Abba Museum etc etc. The T-bana station is close by if you don't like walking or are going further afield. If you fancy swimming and the weather is good, there is a pool complex 20 mins walk (or 2 stops on the tube) away.

Eating out in Stockholm can be very expensive. Head to the Old Town for posh and pricey meals, for cheaper eats head in the opposite direction down Gotgatan to Medborgplatsen. The street food is worth trying, especially the herring stall opposite the hotel by the Gondolen. We bought Stockholm cards from Destination Stockholm which gave us free entry to most of the museums and free public transport. These were well worth having and meant that we visited a lot more places than we would have done otherwise.

Most people probably use the Arlanda Express to get to/from the airport, however we took a taxi for 6 people which cost about £75. The normal size airport taxis appear to be a fixed price of 470 krone (about £45) and the drive takes about 40 minutes.

To sum up, I would recommend the Hilton because of its location and value for money in an expensive city.

Sounds like you really had some effective 5 days in Stockholm.

Our apology for that you had to experience a glitch with the ventilation in your room, but sounds like our team solved it for you rapidly.

We will share your encouraging words with all our team and hope to see you back with us when you are hungry for another piece of Herring or an additional slice of Stockholm.
