Even before we got to the hotel i was happy, as the Hilton chain allows disabled travelers to book an accessible room on their web page, rather than having to do it over the phone like so many other hotels.
When we got there the staff was courteous and very efficient, and our room was superb. Perfectly suited for a wheelchair traveler like myself, with a good bathroom including hand-held shower head and a comfortable, safe shower bench. Our room (2223) had a view of Gamal Stan out one side and quaint cobbled streets and old buildings out the other. Having windows on both sides of the room allowed us to have a delicious cross-breeze as well.
The only complaint I have is the fact that the doorways from the ground-floor bar out to the terrace do not hve ramps, which meant i couldn't go through tyhem unassisted.
All in all a very pleasant hotel, situated beautifully near the Old Town and perched just below the Northern tip of the Sodermalm district (wheelchair travelers be aware that the road up into the Sodermalm is quite steep).
I would recommend this hotel to my friends.More
