I booked this hotel through Expedia and got an amazing rate for a standard single room for 7 nights begining the end of March and running the first week of April. The deal was so good I cancelled a previous reservation at another hotel. I was not dissapointed. To begin with, checkin was a breeze and the staff were very friendly and the place was spotless. Everything was made that much better when I got to my room and found I had been upgraded! A queen bed, a full bath (with a wonderful tub) and a free mini-bar that was restocked daily with soda and chocolate. The room was small by North American standards but for someone travelling solo it was perfect. Iron and ironing board, kettle and a big flat screen TV. The free wireless was also great. Included in the price was also a breakfast buffet that was one of the best I've ever had. Meatballs, sausage and scrambled eggs accompanied a cold buffet of assorted meats and cheeses. Lots of fresh yoghurt and amazing pastries.
Before I booked I had read a few complaints about the location of the hotel. It is a 20 minute walk to Gamla Stan but you are only two blocks away from the Radmansgatan TB stop and that's a direct line to Central Station AND Gamla Stan. Super easy to use and very effecient. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Second time I stay here and love the place.

If you're in Stockholm for business this is the perfect hotel... Good wifi connection, great service and excellent mattresses (Tempur).

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of March 2010. The room we stayed in was on the small side (especially the bathroom), but very clean and still comfortable enough for two people. It was pretty generic, especially when it comes to design (minimalistic with light, a bit bland colors), with basic facilities a three star hotel (four star ranking is probably a bit exaggerated in this case) needs to have, such as a hairdryer, mini bar etc. The only thing I had a problem with was the fact there were two single beds right next to each other instead of a double bed, which made sleeping a bit less comfortable.
I was a bit skeptical before I booked the hotel, since I read a lot of reviews where people complained about rooms not corresponding to stylish design presented on photos. Well, the Reservation section of the official website of this hotel has a picture gallery for each type of room - Standard, Superior, Designer or Retro - and each gallery is accompanied by a small article which says what is included in the price of the room you get and lists the facilities in each type of room. So here's an advice to you all: take a closer look at it before you book your room. We booked a standard room for two and we got exactly what we expected.
The location is fantastic - in a quiet area less than half an hour on foot from Gamla Stan and only a few minutes from the closest metro station, for those who don't feel like walking. Staff seemed nice and polite, we had no problems with the service whatsoever. Breakfast was rich and rather delicious with a great variety of food, but the breakfast room is tiny considering the number of rooms and the possible amount of tourists. We had no problem finding a table when we dined either early in the morning or right before they closed, though.
The price was decent (for Stockholm!), and I found it a fair value for money, but if you're looking for a stylish four star hotel, either be prepared to pay a lot more for a Designer/Retro room or this is not a hotel for you.

We arrived late from Norway and took the subway. The hotel was easy to find. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. Both of our rooms were nicely decorated, if not a little small for 3 people. It was a pleasant surprise to find we did not have to pay for minibar- I've never encountered that at any other hotel. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The staff offered to look after our luggage after checkout while we went sight seeing and gave us helpful information on tours.

We stayed in standard double room for 1 week in Feb 2010. Generally we enjoyed our stay, we had a good valuable price for 100 euros/per day, but there is no reason to pay more for a standard room. It was really small for a 4-stars hotel! We enjoyed breakfasts on the ground floor and the restaurant was really good. The location is excellent on the quiet street not far from the centre of Stocholm.

If you take the metro it's 2 stops from T-centralen on the green line and if you want to walk it is around 20 min from CityTerminalen. It is located in a residencial area, very quiet, 200 m from the metro stop.

There are 7 floors and each of them has a different style, with rooms furnished by different designers. The one we had was very nice and warm, big enough and extremely clean, with wooden floor, minibar (with free of charge bottles of water, re-furbished every day. there was no other food or drinks in it), safe, hairdryer, iron, telephone and a big 32 LCD. Bed was very comfortable, but pillows were a bit too soft for me.
The bathroom was not very stilish and was pretty ordinary, but it was very clean. The offer of shampoo, soap, bath cap,..., was not wide (only soap-shampoo dispenser + soap), but complimentary items could have been asked at reception. The towels are changed every day and all of them were clean.

Free wireless access from all over the hotel.

Access to the sauna on the 7th floor (1 for men and 1 for women) is free for hotel guests, and there you can find also a small gym.

Breakfast has been the best part of our stay. Choice was huge, even though not too wide on sweet things. Croissants, cake, cheese, ham, vegetables, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, meatballs, sausages, eggs, bacon,... you could have skipped even lunch after breakfast since it is open until 10 am during weekdays and until 11 am in the weekend.

Breakfast room has a view on the street, it is located next to the lobby area (where there is also the bar) and it is furnished in a very nice and warm way. The hotel is also restaurant: we didn't try the food, but the offer and prices seemed pretty ok!

Staff at reception was very kind and helpful and service during breakfast was extremely careful in replenishing the food all the time.

Thanks Birger Jarl for the very pleasant stay!

The pluses:
- good breakfast buffet, included in room rate in most cases
- quiet residential area
- good access by road from the airport
- excellent front desk service and friendly attitude
- close access to the underground trains
- for Stockholm, decent pricing

The minuses:
- not central to transport: about a 15 minute walk from Stockholm's central railway station (if you prefer to walk)
- not central to tourist interest areas: at least 20 minutes from Gamla Stan by foot, and maybe 25-30 minutes from Sodermalm
- if you book one, be prepared for very small single rooms with one twin bed - extremely small and cramped, no space to put down a suitcase and empty it
- not particularly clean or modern in the single room section (which is in one older section of the hotel with dark wooden doors) - cold tile floors, etc. - while other sections are reasonably OK
- tiny fitness center with few amenities, but a small and quite hot sauna if you need that after a cold day in Stockholm
- trying to find a seat around 8:30-9:30am for the breakfast buffet is impossible, and the crowds around the small serving areas insure you won't be able to have a quiet, leisurely breakfast; go outside those timeframes for the best experience
