“Expensive for bad room”
Reviewed 16 June 2013 via mobile

Dated decor and can hear the neighbours speaking in clearly through the windows. I have a windowless room which is appalling. The wet room is tiny. To get to my room you go down a corridor like in the movie the shining. In that movie the rooms were really big and nice although jack Nicholson was there. This is the smallest hotel room I've stated in apart from the yotel shoebox hotel. At least it has WiFi.

Stayed 3 nights in budget room without window. The hotel located on rather dull street with faceless residential and office buildings but in only couple of minutes from commuter train (pendeltåg) Södra station, from which it's only 4 min to T-Centralen, in 5-7 mins from 2 T-bana stations on different lines. It's not that far to walk all the way to Gamla Stan and beyond as well, but mind the way back ))
Got early check-in without any fuss or fee. Breakfast was OK although without hot dishes.
Room was on the ground floor, small and pretty narrow, decorated and furnished in late 80's style. Thin walls. Only one towel. The same narrow bathroom's shower corner was oddly right behind the door with other facilities on the side, so after taking a shower you should either don't go there at all or put your only towel on the floor. And only one disposable glass for all stay was like a bad joke (
Overall - fair choice for the money given the prices in Stockholm.

Room Tip: Better avoid windowless rooms until budget is really tight.

Starting with the positive things of this hotel I can mention definitely the 'Location' and the staff is correct. However, the hotel itself is like a bunker. I took a room without window (there were no more left) which smelled horrible. During the shower, the water came out of the super tiny bathroom (although the door was closed)The room was flooded and the carpets wet as a result the room got a horrible rancid smell that stayed in my nose for a week. When I ask for a solution they say, there was nothing to do (in the first ocassion the manager was upset, saying I did not close the shower and the second time they gave me towels). I could barely sleep. I will not recommend this type of room to anyone. Breakfast okeish. ..I booked this hotel because I was attending a course in the neighborhood. But I regreted my decision. Next time I will definitely not go there. There are other places better than this one with similar prices....

Room Tip: Take a room with window

Stayed here for 19 nights because of a work assignment at the Globe Arena. It was the most affordable accommodation we could find in that area for that length of time.
Location is this hotel's main selling point. It's a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station and to the shops and restaurants on the main street. For those who like to walk, 20-25 minutes into the Old Town to the north.
The street is sterile, but quiet - there are nicer streets with cafes and shops surrounding it. The hotel itself is not quiet. I could hear conversations and bathroom activity in other rooms.
I had a single room with a window. What you pay would get you into 4-star territory in North America, but this is definitely 3-star. Stockholm is an expensive European city, however, and you have to adjust your expectations.
This is an important tip. You may or may not get Wi-Fi in your room. I was able to with my iPad and its stronger wireless antennae, but not with my work laptop. My colleague down the hall was able to access the Wi-Fi on the same model of laptop. That meant I had to occasionally work in the lobby, where I could get a strong signal on my laptop.
So when you are assigned you room, before you do anything else, make sure you can access the Wi-Fi signal and if not, ask for another room immediately.
Another important security tip: My door would not latch swinging shut on its own. If I didn't pull it closed from the inside or give it a push when I left, I would have left the door ajar.
My room was small, but that's expected in Europe. If you want a second towel, you ask for it. The bed was comfortable.
There was a variety of food at breakfast: Coffee, tea, juice, bread and rolls, cereal, yoghurt, meat and cheese, hard-boiled eggs, some vegetables. It's a small room and a tight squeeze to manoeuvre around the food table and other guests. There is a grocery store across the street from the hotel.
I would say the front desk staff was OK. Once I was told to "come back later" to ask my question of the manager because "he was busy" but staff phoned my room with the answer shortly thereafter.
Not a memorable stay, but the location worked for the assignment I was on and the price didn't break the bank.

Room Tip: Test the Wi-Fi in your hotel room on your devices immediately when you check in. Ask for another roo...

This is very unpleasant place to stay.
The personal at desktop will not greet you with simple "Hello" at your arrival or "Good morning" in the morning.
Rooms are cramped, carpets are wiped out, you get only one towel that is not changed.
Furniture is very old and scratched.
Breakfast room is too small and overcrowded, though we have been at the beginning of April, 2013.
Service person at breakfast room is always watching the guests, as if they would steal a food.
The latter was just disgusting.
The pictures you see at the site overwhelm the actual reality. This hotel deserves only 1 start, not 3.
The point that might be considered is its location, relatively close to the city centre, 15 min. walk.

Stayed here many years ago and remembered it was pleasant and reasonable . Went there again for 3 nights ( 22 to 25th march ) and had a room without a window . Comfortable and ideal for getting a restful sleep and nice touch to have a curtain and light in front of the wall to give an illusion of having a window . Staff ok,not over friendly but not rude. Breakfast plentiful and varied . Only real problem was only one towel to use . Now it was changed each day but surely a hand towel and one for standing on would not be too much . But it was good value for what we wanted and is only 5 minutes or less from Sodra station and there are plenty of eating options too . Baresso cafe is excellent ,should you miss breakfast . We liked Harrys Bar,for food and drink . It has English signs and items ,a cricket bat, drink posters, scenes of English life but it is not an English bar ,for instance no loud Juke box,no fruit machine ,lovely staff and superb food ( try the meat platter ).
