“Beautiful old world hotel in great location”
Reviewed 9 October 2009

Great hotel just blocks from central station. It's easy to get to Arlanda Express to go to the airport and also transit within Stockholm. Beautiful old-fashioned hotel featuring spacious rooms with hardwood floors. The room was much bigger than expected (huge by European standards) and included a large couch and working/desk area. Bathroom also exceeded expectations. One minor drawback -- the staff was very nice, but unable to answer typical tourist questions. Since we booked room through hotels.com (for a very discounted rate), breakfast was not included.

I'd agree with most of these reviews. Very handy location directly across from the Arlanda Express terminal and just down the street from Stockholm Central Station. Yes, there are restaurants, shops, and pedestrian ways nearby, but it is not a GREAT location, just adequate becuase of the transportation. Its an easy enough walk to the waterfront adjacent to Gamla Stan....which would be a much nicer area in which to stay.

Had a small single room at the top floor fronting the Vasagatan. Vasagatan is quite noisy and the rooms are not air conditioned, so you will likely have your window open in the warm months. Expect street noise all night, or ask for a room at the back. Room was small and clean, but was a bit warn and dated (again, as an earlier reveiwer said, think dorm room). Bathroom was small, but clean.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was nice and was included in the price if I remember correctly.

Room rate fluctuated from about $130 to $230 during the week I was there....at $150 or so it is a great value. At $230, not so much.

I stayed for 5 nights in mid July. I found my single room at the fourth floor very cosy and clean. Bathroom was tidy. Room stayed cool during the hot days, although you couldnt adjust the temperature yourself. Staff was very nice and polite, theres 24 hour reception.
Breakfast was very versatile, just perfect!
Location was very good, all the shops and vital transportation just around you. And what a bargain, only 650 SEK, about 60 euros, per night.
I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed at the Adlon hotel for 3 nights in Mid July. I ended up getting into town way later than I had anticipated and got to the train station around midnight. It was so easy to find. Just head across the street and head left a couple blocks and it's there. Check in was great. I got room 614 which was great. I found it good enough for just me and the bed was decent and quiet as well. I have to say I have a hard time thinking that I paid nearly triple for maybe a bit better hotel in Copenhagen.

The staff was all great, really helpful and friendly.

For sure I'd recommend this place. If you want the basics..... clean, quiet, a good location and great staff then this is the place at a great price.

This is a very nice hotel on a great location in Stockholm. We stayed there for three nights, and we're already planning our next stay. Great value for money!!!

My friend and I had standard single rooms, which were small, but nicely decorated and furnished (looked like they had recently been upgraded), and both rooms and en suite bathrooms were nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and the level of service was great. It seemed like they knew several languages (heard English, German and Spanish).

The hotel is located close to the Central Station where the Arlanda Express arrives, and very central and a great starting point for exploring the city on foot. It's within walking distance to the shopping district, and sights such as the Royal Palace and Old Town.
There's lots of restaurants and pubs in the neighborhood, Italian restaurant, steakhouse, Mexican restaurant, Irish pubs...lots of choices.

We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2009. We also had an early flight out and were looking for a hotel that was close to the Arlanda Express Station. This hotel is a 2 min walk from the station. Very easy if you are tired and have been travelling for 22 hours (like us). We had a fantastic sized room which was comfortable, had adequate cupboard space, plenty of hangers and had a fridge. Our room was very clean, the staff who could all speak good English were very helpful. You are in walking distance to almost everything and if not, you can catch the bus right outside the hotel or walk to the T-centralen (about a 4min walk). You can purchase your Stockholm card from the desk for your time in Stockholm. We had free access to a computer with internet in the lounge which was great as we had decided not to take our laptop. The breakfast was more than ample with fresh fruit and great coffee. I would definitely stay there again. Great value for money.

This hotel with character was great for our first trip to Sweden and Stockholm. It was very convenient - just a block away from the Arlanda Express and within walking distance to all of the sights we wanted to see. The room was quite large with high ceilings, everything was clean and all service was excellent. The breakfast was wonderful with a large selection. It was a little noisy the first day we arrived with traffic from the busy street below, but after that we were not bothered again. I would definitely recommend the hotel without any hesitation and would stay here again on another trip.
