“LOVELY STAY AT TEGNERLUNDEN HOTEL”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2009

My friend and myself stayed for 7 nights at Tegnerlunden Hotel, Stockholm and were completely satisfied with the service. Apart from the excellent location ... very central, yet in a quiet area overlooking Tegnerlunden Park ... the room was large and very clean, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were really helpful and courteous. I totally recommend this hotel. Jesmond Alfino, Malta.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Found the staff to be friendly and very helpful. Room on 5th floor, quietish, clean and tidy. Could have done with some blinds or net curtains as room is overlooked by flats across the road. Our room was under the Breakfast Room which became a bit noisy in the mornings. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice. Hotel very close (walkable) to all the sights. Certainly would recommend it and go back there again.

Booked here after seeing good reviews on tripadvisor, and certainly, as Stockholm goes, excellent value for money, costing just short of 60GBP per night with buffet breakfast.

Arriving from the Central Station via taxi (warning - always ask the taxi driver to put the meter on as we were ripped off being charged 15GPB for a journey of less than a mile) Although arrival was not until 1am local time, we had already advised the hotel of the lateness of our arrival time, check in very quick and smooth and despite the lateness of the hour, he guy behind reception was very friendly.

Room was slightly on the small side small but very adequate for purposes, hair dryer, desk area, chair balcony overlooking the local park. Certainly our room had that "boutique" feel with fancy paintings, blinds on the windows. TV was a slightly outdated CRT version, not a major gripe by any means! bathroom had a walk in shower, walls were thin, but prefectly adequate with soap dispenser by the sink and body wash dispense in the shower area .we were here for Midsummers weekend and this may have been reflective with how quiet the whole area was, a very welcome treat bearing in mind the proximity to the city centre )accessible down a long straight, mainly pedestrianised road 1 minute from the hotel. Car parking available on street around the hotel

Reception area has a PC with internet access for free, plus there is wireless connection in all rooms, ghotel is 6 floors tall, on the 6th floor is the restaurant open for breakfast self serve buffet, serving hot drinks, fruit, cereals, juices, breads, soft or hard boiled eggs, meats and salads, and lovely low fat fresh yoghurt out of big tall jugs. The breakfast certainly sets you up for the day, and is available until 11am on Saturday and Sunday, an added treat with no pressure of having to get up early! Restaurant overlooks the neighbouring skyline, with access to an outdoor area with 3 tables, ideal if no one is smoking alongside )certainly, the weather today - June 21st 2009 - made it a lovley dining experience outside. Certainly very quiet neighbourhood, with two "7-11" stores within one minute of the hotel

Reception were very helpful, allowing us the use of a travel adapter for the duration, and we witnessed left luggage for those people who had booked out but were travelling later that day.Small snacks and drinks service available at reception, and free newspapers available too.

Witnessed ice making machine on the stais between ground and first floor, and shoe polishing machines throughout, the hotel is served by 2 lifts, only big enough for 2 people and luggage, it felt like walking into a cupboard!

Outside the hotel is a very small, picturesque park, the walk into the main city centre is about 10 minutes to the main drag of shops (gradual gradient certainly not prohibitive if you decide to walk here from the station), and I would say about 15-20 minutes from the old town.

Really enjoyed this hotel, and would recommend it to all

Hotel was in a great location, a hop from the centre. The room was very 'ikea'-practical but nice and white. Windows could be opened. TV worked. Quite small closet but fine for short stay. Tiny shower room but well formed. Great views from bedroom. Cleanliness was perhaps 3.5 out of 5- not dirty but a bit of dust in nooks. Breakfast was delicious and worth including, with more great views. Check in and out were swift and there is a sauna! But we never got round to using it.
It is a lovely and relaxing place to sleep. Quiet! And beautiful little park/square outside ad near transport and shops.

Discribed as Hotel Birger Jarl's sister hotel, Hotel Tegnerlunden is more like poor cousin. Rooms look great on website but hotel was a disappointment in reality - shabby reception, cheap and lumpy pillows, curtains that only covered 2 of the 3 windows (and no blindfold provided), crab omelette for breakfast (went to cafe round the corner the 2nd day), thin walls (headboard moved when next door room closed their front door) and not very friendly staff. Generally very bad value.

We stayed at this hotel for2 nights in May and could'nt have made a better choice for the money. It was very reasonably priced considering it's central location. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk trom Centralstation and was very easy to find. It is located right next to a lovely little park on a quiet square.
Our room was lovely, it was a triple room overlooking the park. The room was clean and very tastefully decorated with very comfy beds. It had a small bathroom with a huge walk in shower.
The breakfast buffet was really good, lots of choice and everything was fresh and very tasty.
The hotel staff were helpful and friendly and we were able to store our cases in the luggage room on our last day.
I would highly reccommend this hotel if you are coming to Stockholm, it really was a good find especially as most of the central hotels are very expensive.
I hope that if you do come to Stockholm and stay at Hotel Tegnerlunden you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Nice hotel in a convenient position near bus and subway stop.
Great breakfast buffet.
The bathroom is a little bit small but the room is clean and the staff friendly.
