“Excellent stay and a great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 October 2011

I had a wonderful time in Stockholm and highly recommend the Columbus Hotell based on it's location, friendly staff and reasonable price (for one of the most expensive places I have ever visited).

The only issues would be that we stayed on third floor with a shared bath in a smaller room. This was just fine for us and everything was spotlessly cleaned and cozy/comfortable, etc. However, if you are troubled by stairs and/or a light sleeper, I would suggest getting a private room with bath on the first or second floor if your budget allows.

The hotel breakfast was very good and the staff was very friendly about answering all of our questions. They also have a bar and snacks until midnight which is very nice as well.

Overall, I was pleased and would highly recommend this hotel for the type of travel who is fit, active and likes to spend most of the day outside of the room enjoying sightseeing, restaurants, etc.

I should also mention there is free wifi that worked great and we did enjoy relaxing in the hotel courtyard and lobby for drinks on many nights. It was fantastic.

Please message me if you have any specific questions!

Hi guys. In my opinion one of the best place of stockolm to stay. Stockolm is very expensive ... i stayed on many different capitals of Europe in the past ... but truly Stockolm was highest one. The right solution was this hotel ... best value for price and quality. Continental Breakfast various and copious. The room essential but clean. I booked the one with shared bathroom ... the was clean everyday . The staff was nice and polite. High rate for it.

Very nice budget hotel. Big room, clean - we lived 3 persons in a room with toilets/showers across the hall. Plenty of space although we had shopping bags all over. No elevator. No noise from the street although you can hear the big clock at Katarina Church at 7 on Sunday morning. Very good, big breakfast. The hotel is close to Götgatan and the Photographic Museum. Also close to Hermans restaurant where they serve vegetarian buffet.

Our family, parents and three daughters 8,11 and 13 spend one night at Columbus.
We where pleasently surprised.
Having spent three nights at Scandic( mainsteam) we suddenly found ourselves placed in stylish and and freindly surroundings. Located just beside the hipter area Sofo, and 2 minutes walk to a fantastic view over Stockholm. The rooms where tastefull, and we felt the history of the place right away.
We had a nice breakfast under the big cherrytree in the yard- peacefull atmosphere. We Will absolutly go to Colombus again.

Stayed in the "Columbus" suite just of the courtyard whilst our son stayed on the 3rd floor in a single room with a shared bathroom.
Front desk staff very polite and helpful.
The Columbas suite was huge with an enormous lounge/dining room seperate bedroom ans a nice sized sepaerate bathroom. Room was quaint and comfortable rather than luxurious but was a very pleasant place to stay. Our sons room was in the loft space and was a good sized single room with a comfortable bed.

We were travelling with our adult children to Stockholm and looking for something located in Gamlin Stan. We stumbled across a gem of a hotel called the Columbus through the T.A. reviews. It turned out to be a very easy walk to Gamlin Stan and we were so thankful to be in this chariming area instead. Upon arrival we walked through the huge archway to be embraced by the quaint cobblestone courtyard filled with birds singing, candles lit on the toutdoor tables with beautifully knit blankets for guests to stay warm. Complimentary tea/coffee and buscuits greeted us. Front desk staff were wonderful. Helpful in every way. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean. Our rooms had lovely soft beds and huge windows opening out to let in the fresh air. The breakfast was an amazing buffet of cheeses, fruits, breads, meats, cereals, nuts, fresh yogurt and much more. The breakfast alone was worth the stay. We argued to attest to who had the nicest room as they were all so lovely and different. You can't go wrong with this choice. The price is reasonable and it has everything from free wireless internet to cable TV. I will remember most how the evening staff greeted us with a warm embrace at the end of the day and we spent the summer evenings having tea in the courtyard, while others had the wine or beer offerings. They even had room service and a well stocked selection of foods for the evenings. Thie Columbus made our visit to Stockholm memorable. Highly recommended. I

Room Tip: All rooms were wonderful. some shared bath.

This hotel was very charming and lovely with a romantic atmosphere. Sort of a country inn feel in the city. Only drawback is the shared bathrooms and Loos. My favourite hotel in Stockholm! Quirky but endearing.
