Rygerfjord Hotel and Hostel

We had a water front view room. Rooms are specious enough for a ship. ( compared with another hostel ship in Stockholm )
Beds are too small and short for a 80kg /178cm person.
Staff are nice and helpful .

highly recommend.

A hotel on a boat, a 5 minute walk from the old city. It sounds like a great deal but beware - if you choose to stay here there are several inconveniences that might ruin your night, as they did for me.

Pros:
- incredible location
- cheap
- immaculate bathrooms
- cozy common areas

Cons:
- not enough bathrooms
- tiny rooms with little ventilation
- not enough privacy: room doors have a hallway window covered with a flimsy semi transparent curtain and a see-through rectangular area of about 10cm x 1cm next to the lock
- extremely noisy at night - more so than an average hostel because of the loud toilet flush and cramped spaces (I could make out individual conversations going on in the bar upstairs from my room at 1 in the morning)
- "double" beds not quite double, uncomfortable
- opaque windows, so forget about a view
- bad TV reception in common area

Luxury accommodation it isn't. It would pass for average except for what goes on at night: Apart from the aforementioned noises, the night receptionist seems to fiddle a lot at night, which means lots of random pacing outside of your door at 3-4 in the morning, alarms being set off randomly and then being deactivated, etc. When I stayed there the alarm went off a full 3 times between 3 and 4 in the morning.

What goes on at night is not handled properly either, when I stayed there another seemingly drunk guest made a huge loud scene at the bar for over 20 minutes, with the receptionist seemingly unwilling to take care of the situation. It was only after a phone call to the receptionist that he finally decided to take the guest elsewhere and close the door so as to drown out the heavy noise. This was the same night as the alarm went off, as well, so it was obviously a ruined night of bad sleep.

Earlier that day the lock to my room door would not open from the inside so I was trapped and had to call the reception to be able to come out of my room. If you go there, I guess bring a working phone in case you get locked inside of your room (!).

This is a cheap hotel in a nice location, true, but stay there at your peril. I will never even consider coming back, it is just impossible to have a good night of sleep there if you're anything other than a heavy sleeper. Keep away.

Room Tip: As far away as possible from the stairway to the restaurant and the bathrooms

Stay on board of a decommissioned boat in one of Stockholm's many canals, right next to the city center. Great view of the city center, cosy bedrooms, all in all a good experience, good if you are single or acompanied.

Room Tip: Eat early as some outlanders will come here for the view and they might ran out of food!

Booked a stay on the boat for the experience being on the water especially since we had a visitor
from USA with us. The cabins were very comfortable and clean as well as the shower rooms.
We had cabins with big windows overlooking Stadshuset. Unfortunately due to the cold Midsummer weather the cabins were really cold and the radiators could not be turned on.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was very basic, the only thing to remember was the excellent bread.

The location is perfect, and it's a beautiful little ship. Do it when you have a sense of adventure. The staff is helpful and the common room was very comfortable. It keeps the furniture of the 40ties, when it was used as a ship in the Norwegian Fjords. We have been 2 times and for sure we will come back.

Prices for hotels in Stockholm where extremely high during the days we visited, therefor we decided to take a hostel. Rygerfjord charged us around 160,00 euros for 2 nights in a cabin, nr 109. Serice was fine, but the room was soooooo small, but yeah, what can you expect on an old lineship. However it was very charming, but make sure you cannot spent free time in your cabin. it's simply too small.
The beds slept surprisingly good for what it looks like.

WiFi works well and there are bikes for rent for about 10,00 Euros a day.

It didn't hurt us, but it was small..........

Room Tip: ask for riverview

We stayed on the boat Rygerfjord III.
Everything was brand new: rooms, showers, toilets, kitchen. Room was spacious for a boat cabin, and we had a very nice view of Stockholm. Overall it was a good place to stay, a bit expensive, but ok when compared with other places in Stockholm.
10 minutes walking distance to Slussen metro station and 15 minutes to the Gamla Stan old town.
Only complains are that pools are formed in the showers, because the boat is slightly inclined and water is not properly drained.
Breakfast was nice, but you had to get there in time, because many things were not replenished.
