“Nice, tidy and very central”
Reviewed 18 June 2012

Good value for money, really central location.
The room was very clean, spacious and nicely layout, plenty of natural light.
The breakfast was good and the service friendly and helpful.

Interesting hotel, as it shares the building with other companies. After entering the reception you walk up the stairs and at each plateau you can enter a specific section of the hotel. The staircase can be entered directly from the street as well, without going through the hotel reception. It's definitely not what one would call a business hotel, but due to the central location (10 mins walk from the main station and right on the main shopping street) it makes perfectly sense for vacation stays. The rooms are nice, seemed recently refurbished and clean. The bathroom functional, nothing outrageous but working. Generally recommendable hotel, if you're looking for something in the center of Stockholm to a decent price and have to pay yourself.

This is a good hotel with a few set backs. Rick Steve's touts this as a hotel that when asked will provide a 10% discount. They do not give a discount (we asked everyday) as they say a discount has already been provided when booked online. Their internet access is ONLY available on the 1 computer in the lobby (not in any of the rooms). Big on nickel and kronering, they do not provide coffee/tea for free but for a charge, and bad hair dryer. The staff at night is wonderful, the day time staff is lacking in help and positive attitude. All in all good location to restaurants, t-bana and ok breakfast.

My daughter and I spent four nights in Stockholm and were very satisfied with the hotel. Only drawback was the tiny shower but with plentiful hot water. Excellent staff. They opened up the dining room so we could have breakfast before an early morning train. Also enjoyed the Drottninghof Restaurant, just doors away, run by the same owners. Returned for a second night because of the food, service and convenience.

This hotel is well located on a pedestrian walkway near the center of the city. Good restaurants are nearby and an ATM machine is two blocks away. The rooms are basic but clean and the breakfast is satisfactory, overall I think the hotel is a good value and a friendly helpful staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the noisy restaurant, the band plays until11:30

Stockholm is an expensive city, so if you’re on a tight budget perhaps you’ll need to give up something. This hotel is not luxurious, but it has a great location right on the pedestrian shopping street. From there you are at short walking distance from Gamla Stan, as well as the central train station and bus station.
The hotel is located in a building, which is shared with other residents/businesses. When you walk into the tiny lobby, you pick up your key and then you have to exit hotel property into an old elevator and staircase hall, which has direct access to the street, I suppose for non hotel guests. The hotel owns/rents a couple of floors in the building, so when you get to your floor, you need to open a door with a key and then you are again within hotel property to find your room along the corridor. Make sure you ask the front desk employee to give you 2 sets of keys, because if one of the 2 guests wants to go out or downstairs you’ll need one set to access the elevator and another one for the guest staying in the room. The room was furnished with quality and it wasn’t too small. The bathroom was very small, although the shower was comfortable. The room was dimly lit, and natural light was almost non-existent due to internal courtyard the window overlooked and the fact that winter sun light is very feeble.
To access the breakfast room, you have to exit the hotel property again –toward the other end- walk across another hall and then enter the room. The style was buffet, but the choice was quite limited. It wasn’t bad, but I expected something much better for a Scandinavian buffet.
Prices in Stockholm are steep. We paid about 120 USD a night for a double room breakfast included. For the same money we afforded a Hilton hotel in Helsinki with much better services.
The best thing was the location. Also they provide a computer with Internet access to guests. The worst thing was the front desk service. I had to ask about supermarkets in the area and how to obtain tickets for the T-bana, and the local girl at reception just answered ‘I don’t know.’ She should know such simple information, or she could have offered to ask somebody else. That wasn’t great.
I wouldn’t mind going there again, but perhaps I’d try to find something if not cheaper at least better quality.
