“Nice place downtown Stockholm”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2013

In a such expensive place as Stockholm, the Queen's hotel is a very good deal. Located in the heart of the city, next to the pool Centralbadet, this hotel is comfortable and clean.
Rooms are spacious enough with modern bathroom.
The breakfast is average but good ! You can also enjoy a relaxing massage in a chair in the lobby !
Well, a good experience ! I highly recommend it.

Stayed for just one night in sept 2013.

hotel is said to be built in the 1800s, has a nice enough charm about it. rooms look like they clash with the charming theme of the hotel...the colonial look hasnt been maintained in the rooms in an attempt to create more modern rooms; which is a shame. rooms also somewhat smaller than expected, based on the price. no air conditioning in the room...and i dont recall seeing a fan either, but maybe i am mistaken. the lack of either was not really a problem, given outside temp was about 13C in the day. the nicest thing for me about the hotel is probably the colonial looking lifts.

Situated at the famous Drottininggatan (Queens) Street, the plus point to the hotel is location - walking distance to Grand Central Station and metro (which means convenient to and from airport; about 10-15 mins walking distance to train station with one luggage in tow!). Also walking distance to Royal palace, Parliament house and the old part of town, and lots of shopping etc. Plenty of eateries nearby, as hotel food is nothing to shout about. breakfast is simple.

would I stay here again? maybe, because of location, but probably not, given the ample options in stockholm.

Stayed during World Water Week. The hotel is centrally located and close to restaurants, trains and metro. Rooms are small and building overall creaks so you here movement in the hallways. Breakfast is typical European fare nothing special. Staff are nice.

The location of this hotel is brilliant as its located right on the main street in the city centre. The hotel overall is fine. The rooms are a little small but considering the price its good. The only slight negative is that there were a lack of towels and toiliteries in the room but I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Go for room on higher floor as the noise from the street wont be a factor

Nicely located on a main Shopping street leading to the downtown districts this is a good pace for torurists. Rooms were clean and just about spacious enough. Bath/Shower was good although shower cubicle took some Attention to shut. Location is noisy though at least for those preferreing to sleep with Windows open. TV was unintelligable against the street noise.
Breakfast was just scraping Minimum continental European Standard.
We paid 1050 SEK/night for a double.
To be recommended.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the pedestrian Zone, not Olof Palmen Gatan. They were liberal re late check...

Nice and convenient location in the hart of Stockholm. Close to the shopping area. Central station is just 10 minutes of walking distance, where you can use direct line from/to the airport: Swebas express ticket costs around EUR 12 and it takes 35-40 minutes from and to arlanda airport.

Hotorget Metro station is only 2 minutes away, which easy brings you to the central station or to the old town (Gamla Stan). Staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is basic, but good. If your flight is in late evening, you can leave your luggage in the locked room. Internet connection is good and free.

Negative: No air conditioner. Doors are very tight and close automatically making a loud sound.

Room Tip: nothing special

Sweden is certainly not the cheapest country in Europe and this might influence which hotel you book into. I came to Stockholm for a medical conference and was booked into this hotel. It is not cheap. The hotel does have some charms. It is a lovely old building bang in the centre of Stockholm and with care and attention might really be quite wonderful; the elevators are something out of a 1930 movie! However, it is suffering from neglect. There is no A/C. My room was high-ceilinged but small and cramped and fitted out with rather worn Ikea furniture. The curtains were stained (I did not inspect too closely!) and the whole impression is rather akin to a run-down student hostel. The service I received was not good either. An establishment to be avoided.
