“Full of bed bugs!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2013 via mobile

We stayed here in September for 4 nights. This place was absolutely riddled with bed bugs! There were so many that you could find them even with the lights on in the day. When we complained they moved us to a different room but then proceeded to put new people in our old room! Part of the problem is that they charge so much extra for sheets which encourages people to bring their own sleeping bags in. The place is fairly stylish but has a poor atmosphere, is very dark and gloomy, and doesn't have sufficient bathroom facilities. Look elsewhere, it's not worth it...

Firstly, absolutely great location. I was in a 6 bedroom dorm for the first night of my stay but someone complained of bed bugs in the room so I was moved to a cosy 4 bed dorm on the second night. Really comfortable nights sleep throughout my stay.

Long and dimly hallways make this place lack character so along with the lack of common areas, these are the only two downsides.

This hostel is in a great location, walking distance to all the shops, the centre of town and sights.
Its underground and the 4 bed room has a very cool feel (looks like you're in an igloo) only issues there aren't any windows it can be a little claustrophobic and there aren't any powerpoints near the top bunks. So you when you need to charge your phones you need to keep them on the floor. Which is an issue if the room is full and you are on the top bunks! Also there are only 3 showers in the ladies bathroom. There aren't any doors on the showers and only 2 out of the 3 had curtains and there was only one toilet.

There were lots of bed bugs. I got completely bitten. The worst hostel I have ever been. Reception was closed during the night and no one could solve my problem during the night. Also very unsafe, there is no access control

The main thing was that there are barely any windows/daylight so it just doesn't feel very nice. The women's bathroom only has 1 toilet and 3 showers, 1 without a shower curtain and 1 mirror. Could be a lot better! Also, not enough plugs in the rooms and not enough utensils in the kitchen.

Check in closes at 6pm and we were left phoning numbers posted on the door at 7pm until someone from the hostel (he said he was asleep....) let us in. He showed us to the wrong room at first and the codes for the door seemed to work for more than one room, which is slightly worrying.

Good location though.

The hostel was in a great location, right in the middle of Gamla Stan with easy access to the train/bus terminals. The rooms for 4 were lovely (my friends had a 4) I had a room of 6 which was ok but there wasn't much room. The beds were good, though top bunk was very high! The bathroom was very basic but showers worked fine. The kitchen was well equipped, very clean and there was a nice communal area with free internet access.
The reception closes at 6pm so be sure to email them for a passcode for your room if you arrive after. No alcohol is allowed in the hostel and the kitchen is closed at 10pm.

Nice hostel but don't count on being able to get into the kitchen in the morning. They claim that the kitchen and commons room open at 7:00, but both mornings I stayed here I was still waiting for someone to open things up after 8:30 am. Other guests wandered by, shrugged their shoulders, and gave up. It's a hassle if you have any morning plans and want to have coffee or eat something first.

Room Tip: The 6-bedded rooms are claustrophobic. 4-bedded are fine. Good security, too.
