This is a nice place to hang out, catch a breath as you prowl Gamla Stan. The square - the oldest square in Stockoholm - is ringed by the Nobel Academy, restaurants and coffee shops, at one of which (Kaffekuppen?) I had a good homemade soup. This is also the place of the infamous massacre of locals by the Danish king Christian II, which has led to Swedish independence war. As you sit there, you are witnessing the history of the city and the country, which are etched into every nook and cranny within the square. You may also see fire dancers (echo of the Burning Man:) and local characters.
