Hotel Kungstradgarden was an excellent choice for our stay before our cruise. From some reviews on Tripadvisor I was concerned the room would be too small.
We booked a larger queen room and while it was not spacious it was not small. Our room had a fireplace (which we did not need to use) ,comfortable chairs ,two large windows a chandelier and a queen bed. There also was a small frig and coffee pot in a cabinet. The bathroom was large, very nice and had heated towel racks. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. We arrived around 1:30 after a long trans-Atlantic flight and our room was ready.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful in providing information about the area. They also allowed us to have a later check out and arranged a taxi to the ship.
Breakfast was a very good buffet with a great variety of foods including eggs, pancakes, fruit, yogurt, pastries and much more. The location could not have been better. We walked to Gamla Stan, Vasa, Skansan, and the Town Hall. There are plenty of resturants close by including one in the hotel.
While we were on the cruise we learned from other cruisers that other hotels used by the cruise line had very small, plain rooms.
We loved the hotel and would not hesitate to return to it.More
