The building and the art nouveau decor is beautiful and the tour was informative. It was not very long but enough to give us some information. The tour is dominated by the Nobel prize giving ceremony but most people asked questions about that anyway. There were also free concerts in the entrance hall.

For us the highlight was the Stockholm Symphony Orchestra practising with Sara Dawn Finer so we had a free concert as well. That was just pure luck!

We stopped into the Stockholm Concert Hall as we wandered around the city, although we did not take the tour of the building. There was a jazz trio playing during the hour of our visit, so we had a seat and listened to their vvey excellent arrangement of songs. It lasted about 30 minutes, and was well worth the stop.

We also ventured into the hall and wandered around an exhibit that showed how the Nobel Prize Ceremony is set up there every year...very interesting! Also, in the front of the Hall is a moderate-sized farmers market, where you can buy fruits and vegetables from the local farmers.

This was worth the stop, and did not cist us anything.

The building is beautiful. The Carl Milles 'Orfeus' group statue outside is worth a visit. There are free concerts by students in the lobby several times a day (at least in summer). Every one I heard sounded very professional. The concert house tour costs 70 SEK. The woman spoke less than 10 minutes. She took us to see the stage where they give out the Nobel Prizes. She just sat there while we took pics. RIP OFF!!!!

When we went there was a market going on, but it looked like most of the things for sale were used items. Almost like a large garage sale. We could only see the hallway of the Concert Hall as they had it closed for a recital when we went.

The building is a remarkable building of its time. The orchestra is good, (but of cause I am used to the sound of it) playing a varied selection of classical music. Sometimes with world class soloists. The organ is very good.
