We had a very good stay there.
We were greeted by a female member of staff who told us briefly about the hotel and Stockholm itself. We got an upgrade to a studio, which was a nice surprise.
The breakfast was delicious with a range of hot and cold options! A wide variety of breads was what we particularly liked.
The room was clean and bright. Although it overlooked a basketball court with children playing there until late, it did not affect our stay. The room was very quiet.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The location is also very good: 7 minute walk from the underground station and the supermarket is next door.
We really liked the sauna in the hotel which completed our Scandinavian experience.

We made a good deal for three nights and didn't expect too much. When we arrived there was a warm welcome from the receptionist (Johannes if I'm not mistaken), even got an upgrade to a bigger room. The room was nice, good beds, big window, sufficient bathroom, no noise. Housecleaning could improve somehow but generally spoken everything was clean.
The location of the hotel had not put us off. 100m from the hotel there's a citybike station. Bikes are 20$ for three days, you can buy the card at the hotel. Loved it.
The breakfast was excellent. No cappuccino's (well, you could order them for an additional 4 bucks), but the rest was amazing. You could even make your own orange juice.

Conclusion:
+service
+breakfast
+bikes nearby
-30min walk to Gamlastan

Would recommend!

Overall it was a really pleasant stay in this hotel.
It’s close to the center. You actually can walk, it takes you about 15 minutes. To the next Underground trainstation it takes you around 7 minutes. Next to the hotel is a supermarket. The staff at the reception is really nice and helpful although they couldn’t answer all our questions. The size of the room was okay. Only thing was, the cleanliness. There were hair in the bathroom and the cushions had spots (i guess it was blood). Further more i was missing a little fridge in the room.
The breakfast was amazing, nicely done and well presented. Also here the staff was really friendly and attentive (little note: i just hated the juice squeezer, because it was so loud and disturbed the nice atmosphere).
We stayed there for 5 nights and enjoyed it. We can recommend this hotel although it has some potential to increase certain things.

I have to say I wasn't happy with my last visit to this hotel, and I've stayed with them many times over the past 3 years.

Something is going wrong with the management there over the last 12 months or so, and unless it changes I won't continue to be a customer. I say it seems like a management problem because it's many things all at once not working very well.

Some examples:
(1) The breakfast never seemed to run on time, keeps getting pushed back in time, and with the compressed hours makes for a crowded rush as everyone in the hotel is trying to eat during the same 2 hour period.
(2) The room cleaning also seems short-staffed, they aren't getting to all the cleaning until quite late, and then have been missing things (e.g. trash cans not being emptied)
(3) There's now a Roma beggar (different one every day) parked permanently outside the ICA grocery store which is directly beneath the hotel's windows, and for 12 hours per day you can hear them say "hej-hej" and jingle their coin cup to everyone who leaves the store. Because it stays light very late in the summer, and the store is open until 22:00, you can either close your window (which is rather warm) or plan on getting not so much sleep. I know this isn't really the hotel's fault, and the Roma are also EU citizens, but is there a way to mediate this situation?
(4) The elevators have become silly slow, almost nonfunctional, either because they aren't being programmed correctly (non-responsive) or for some other reason. But, honestly, it's often like a 5-10 minute wait, with the doors creeping open and creeping closed, and this is only a 7 floor hotel. Frustrating.
(5) Slow internet, and often so slow as to become useless. Maybe an upgrade for more bandwidth is needed? Working internet is a requisite feature these days.
(6) Hot in the summertime. This is standard for Sweden, unfortunately, because aircon is really only needed for about 4-6 weeks in the summer (otherwise, it's cool all year round). But the summers have been warm lately, and the aircon at the hotel is really anemic. Maybe time for an upgrade, or to have a back-up system on standby if it gets hot?

Sorry for the bad review, but my last stay at this otherwise nice property (in a nice neighborhood) was really not so good. I hope they can turn things around.

Room Tip: absolutely on the back side of the hotel ... facing the school ... although the school yard can also...

Dear Yeoldelon,

I was very glad to read that you have choosen to stay with us again. However, I was not happy to hear that you where not satisfied with your latest stay for which I am very sorry.

I can asure you, that we will do our very best to correct the mentioned flaw that you mentioned, so that we can have you back again.

Please let me give you some comments on your exampels:

During summer and holidays many hotels in Stockholm have different breakfast hours than during Corporate periods, but we will now overlook our openinghours.

Unfortunately, during summer guest tend to check out later. This ofcourse also affects the cleaning time and check in time for the next guest.

We are all aware of the imprtance of internet and we carefully follow and check how it is running. We can monitor and measure the usage and we have seen that guests tend to have more devices per person. Of course we have to meet this!

Once again, I am sorry for the trouble you had during your last stay. You are always warm welcome back to us and please feel free to contact me anytime if there is anything I personally can do for you.

Best Regards,

We booked a studio room with kitchen because I thought the food in Sweden is as bad and expensive as in Norway. But I was wrong. No need to have a kitchen and cook since food is good and not expensive there. Anyways as already mentioned there is a supermarket in the same building which is open daily 8-22.

Our room was quite big and had a kitchen with stove. No dishwasher, though.
We had two beds pushed together which gives you more space than their double bed. The bed is quite comfortable. However I can imagine that some people might consider it too soft.

Also the room didn't have AC. So I thought this is not an issue since we are in the Nordics but the sun rises very early and sets very late (10pm). So if the sun is shining in your room it gets very warm and at night it doesn't really cool down.

The breakfast however was not so good. First of all it was so crowded that we had to wait for a table. Not to mention that the buffet area was crowded, too. The breakfast room has no windows so you feel like eating in the basement. If you ask for fried eggs they won't make it. You can eat only what is on the buffet.

They don't have housekeeping staff past 6pm. So if you need something you have to go to the reception yourself. No room service either.

Spent 4 nights at Best Western and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Stockholm.

It's about half an hour walk from the city centre but that means it's cheaper and is situated in a lovely neighbourhood near supermarkets and restaurants. It's about 10 min walk from the nearest metro.

The room was great, typically functional and minimalist, but extremely comfortable.

Breakfast was fantastic, a whole array of traditional Swedish grub (herring, salmon, cottage cheese and cress) plus the more standard choices.

This is a very nice hotel, the rooms are great.

The breakfast is very very good, fresh salmon and pancakes every day!

Great bathroom.

We stayed in the time when temperatures got over 30 C and they have no aircon. Well that is probably not a disadvantage since the swedes do not know anything over 25...

In general we loved it and would be very happy to come back.
