“Good japanese Restaurant”
Reviewed 7 August 2011

It was nice to find this place in the main square of Soedermalm, which is quite chaotic and full of fast food restaurants, and furthermore he has a very nice terrace where stay outside in the warm Swedish evening. The food was very good we had Udon with fish and Sashimi and the price with 1 beer and water,s erved for free in any Swedish restaurant, was around 450 SEK. I think a very reasonable price for the location and food, but be attentive to go to the restaurant at the first floor and not at the fast food at the basement.

“Very good Grill, friendly but unattentive staff, nice outdoor balcony”
Reviewed 28 July 2011

Very friendly staff but some of them not very attentive.
The Grill dishes were nice especially the meat dish.
The sashimi was average which is not good enough considering the price.
The dessert were all surprisingly good esp the Tofu-dessert and the Japanese tea icecream.
Nice outdoor surrounding.
As this restaurant is actually 3 in 1, it is a bit of a shame that there was no flexibility to make an order from one of the other menues.
(the other parts of the family would give this place a higher rating :))

“Started bad, but ended good”
Reviewed 5 July 2011

Scenario: Hungry tourists looking for a place to eat in Stockholm, have been walking around for a while, looking at some menu's, but I was craving Japanese. At first attempt we went into Murasaki and sat on the balcony. Beware! The menu on the balcony is not the same as that inside the restaurant (upstairs). This is due to the interactive dining scenario that you can enjoy (active gas flame in the center of the table).

Initial Impression: Prices were moderate, the food that uses the gas grill requires two people minimum and prices ranged from 179/person - 289/person (SEK).
Starters: mostly under 100 SEK.
Nigiri: 15-35 SEK
Maki: 70-200 SEK (We had the California Maki @ 119 SEK, and wow, this thing was awesome, not your average roll, 8 big pieces, real salmon, real crab, avacado, cucumber, mayo was a little bit over powering but still, did not skimp out on the maki quality.
Drink: 45-60 SEK for beer (most bottled japanese) I must say though, I had a bottle of Sapporo, and the waiter poured it right into my glass with no finesse or regard and thus gave me %80 head on my beer, so that was a bit frustrating.

Food: Now the good part, as mentioned before, we had the California roll to start, 119 SEK, it was not a let down by any means.
Entrecote Udon: Beef was cooked with a sweeter sauce and this soaked through into the Udon, but it was very good and I would definitely have it again.
Seafood Udon: This was very good. 2 prawns, 2 scallops, 2 large mussels, and 2 big pieces of salmon.

Overall: This restaurant had great food, was not unbearably expensive, but not a budget meal by any means. Service was alright, nothing special either. I would go back again, and I think the grill could be a cool experience. Try it out if you want good Udon or are craving Japanese and are too lazy to look for a better deal.

“Tasty Japanese food!”
Reviewed 30 March 2011

I visited Murasaki restaurant as I had a longing for Sukiyaki, beef sukiyaki. First I had some nigiri sushi and a plate of really crispy tempura. Both were really good and enjoyable, great for sharing with your fellow diners

The sukiyaki consisted of beef and fresh vegetables, to add to that the beef was of Swedish origin and of really good quality. I've eaten Japanese food in Japan and I really think this is as close as you'll get to good quality Japanese food outside of Japan

The restaurant is cozy, the seats are comfortable so you can really sit back and cook the food in your own time if you choose yakiniku, sukiyaki or shabu shabu. They also have a good size sushi bar on the first floor, but the really good stuff is upstairs!

On the downside, some names of dishes can be hard to figure out if you're not familiar with Japanese food. I asked the staff and they explained what the dish was so it was OK...

“Not recommended”
Reviewed 24 June 2010

They didt understand our order because the waitress doest speak swedish or english properly. And later they force to pay us doble. It is a restaurant that doesnt care about its costumers.
Some comments:
1) Every waiter should be able to "communicate".
2) Fix the menu that is wrong.
3) If u make a mistake do not blame other in order to same money.
4) It took more than three hours to eat, the slowest service ever.
5) The food was acceptable but not good enough.

So if you wanna have an "amazing" experience just go there.
