“Beautiful. Comfortable Relaxing place to stay”
Reviewed 19 September 2018 for a stay in September 2018

We had such an relaxing weekend at Millers Retreat. Suzie and Jerry are so welcoming. We had some great conversations with them yet they also give you your privacy. Everything you could think of is provided for you. The grounds are beautiful, and the suite is so comfortable and well decorated. We loved having the patio to relax and eat meals on and had a great time taking the boats out. We will definitely be going back, Thank you so much Suzie and Jerry.

“A perfect getaway!”
Reviewed 5 September 2018 for a stay in August 2018

We stayed at the mill for two weeks in the summer. It was everything we needed - beautiful location, comfortable accommodation, enough places to visit to keep us interested but ideal for just lazing around reading books.
Suzie and Jerry have found the balance between being friendly and helpful but letting you have your space. The mill suite and gardens are a credit to all the hard work they have done and continue to do.
We would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit the area, you won't be disappointed.

“A warm and cozy retreat”
Reviewed 17 March 2018 for a stay in March 2018

My partner, Tim, and I had a wonderful stay at the Mill! Our suite was so beautiful, clean and cozy. The Mill is absolutely stunning! On our last night, we found ourselves wishing we had booked a longer stay. We plan to return again in the warmer weather to enjoy time on the river and hiking through the nearby trails.

“Perfect Birthday Weekend Getaway”
Reviewed 28 November 2017 for a stay in November 2017

We were looking for someplace to get away for the weekend for my girlfriends Birthday. Our Hosts Suzie and Jerry have done an amazing job of transforming the Island Mill into not only a beautiful home for themselves but adding accommodations for guests to rent. The pictures are great but seeing it all in person they have created the perfect romantic getaway for couples. We arrived on the Friday and we rented the lower suite, everything was immaculate and just as shown in the pictures. Jerry and Suzie were happy to show us around and explain and share stories about the property as well as things to see and do in the area. The kitchen has all you'll need to prepare meals from breakfast to dinner, even tea and coffee are provided along with some condiments etc. There isn't much in the way of stores or restaurants withing walking distance but Napanee is a short 16 minute drive and Belleville about 25 minutes away. The weather was cooler during our visit so we did spend a lot of time indoors and enjoyed our stay. We would both like to return in the warmer months and take advantage of the water activities and the outdoors....the sound of the water surrounding the Mill is very relaxing.
Thank You Suzie and Jerry for a Great Birthday Weekend Getaway!

“Second visit, even better!”
Reviewed 29 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

I wrote a review in June of this year for the Country Suite (the second floor unit) you can check out, and we knew we'd be back next Summer but it turns out we couldn't wait that long so we came in the Fall, some 4 months after our first visit. That's how much we loved it. And we still do!

This time we rented out the "basement" suite. It's not really a basement. If you look at the photo of this listing, it's the 3 windows you can see on the bottom level. It's below the main floor, but is accessed via private side stairs and door, and has zero basement feel. Private little terrace right by the water with a small outdoor fireplace unit and grill, chairs, etc. Very cozy to sit feet away from the rocks and water with a little fire going. Was perfect the first night with some colder Fall weather. As I've mentioned in my other review, they think of everything. No exception in this suite! There are 2 pairs of woolen socks and outdoor fleece blankets so you can sit and enjoy the terrace in the chill! Bliss. And Jerry, of course, sets the wood up in there for you in advance. Of course! Somehow we're still surprised by how wonderful they are as hosts. We're spoiled now, though. We need to temper expectations elsewhere. There aren't many like this.

Gorgeous rustic suite that's all natural stone, tile, wood and lots of pieces and decor reused from the original mill. Fantastic. Bigger and more complete kitchen than upstairs. Slightly smaller suite overall, I think. Different. Both are charming in their own way and we'd easily stay in either. It's hard to pick a favorite, though this one definitely wins out on the shower. I love that shower! You're a pro, Jerry! Though I know Suzie convinced you to do it that way =) Team effort, all around. An inspiration, and so much fun to chat with both. We left a day early due to unforeseen circumstances, but will have to share some wine and chatter next visit!

So again, wonderful. We knew what to expect and it was still somehow beyond expectations. We'll learn. And will be back next Summer for round 3. Like I said in the other review, I write this because they deserve it but I know we'll have to reserve earlier and earlier as more people discover this little slice of paradise. Our definite "go-to" relaxation spot, from now until they close up shop!

Enjoy the vacation this Winter, guys... you've earned it. Thanks a ton!

Thank you Greg and Annie for your very kind and thoughtful review. It helps future guests to really get a feel for our place when a past guest takes the time to share their experience. It was a shame you could not stay for your complimentary third night. We're just so very happy that you two find our place so special as we do. Take care over the winter and we would love to see you both again next year.
