We were very impressed with what the Bistro does with fresh local ingredients. The pickerel was so fresh and cooked to perfection. We also shared a charcuterie and cheese plate and the flavours were amazing. We enjoyed the local wine and finished off our meal sharing a piece of killer chocolate cheesecake. Overall it was a great experience and we look forward to coming back.

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening. The Milford Bistro had been in our bucket list of County food stops for a few years but ownership changes and renovations had complicated things in past efforts. While the charm of the bistro can't be denied, the execution: service, food quality, and value for money leave much to be desired. While ingredients may be sourced locally, preparation, delivery and taste still matter I'm afraid. Definitely not worth the trip to Milford. Pity.

My bf took me to this hidden little gem in pur beautiful County for my birthday, and i felt like a princess! The service from owner Mike was excellent from the moment we stepped in the door! The Bistro is beautifully decorated and the soft lighting made the atmosphere very cozy and romantic!
We ordered the charcuterie platter and we're so impressed with how the locally sourced hand-made meats and condiments were the perfect blends of sweet & savory.
I ordred the perch fillets with chevre mash & seasonal veggies,... Perfect! The fillets were cooked perfectly and im not sure exactly what was in those potatoes, but ive never had mashed potatoes that were that flavorful! The seasonal vegetables werent the usual california mix you would usually get when ordering 'seasonal' vegetables, but a delicious mix of heirloom carrots and golden beets, absolutley amazing!!!
My bf ordered the beef tenderloin and almost literally cried when he got to the last bite! Hes a steak conisseur and reported he had never eaten a steak like that in his life! The most tender, perfectlooked strak ever prepared! The chef Jerry csme out after our incredible meal just to make sure we had enjoyed eveything, and i was also presented with a complimentary piece of lemon pie with a birthday candle! An all around wonderful experience and we will definitely be returning and telling all our friends and family! Great job!

Reviews looked great (in most cases) but disappointing when we arrived - closed. I highly recommend making the limited hours apparent on trip advisor so people done waste their time going during the week (in high season). the hours are no readily apparent or easy to find on any of the links. Unfortunate

We've been loving this intimate, country Bistro with its upscale cuisine since we discovered the County a few years ago: from affable, chill owner Michael Lavelle to the current chef and unobtrusive servers, it is always a pleasure to sit back in our (nice) jeans, unwind with a glass of the local wine and not be rushed out of our table after battling the traffic out of Toronto.
The recent renos are fab: and A must try is this summer's charcuterie plate for two - on the updated, shaded patio with a glass of cold white or a nice beer ? Sexy eating !
For traditionalists the burgers are second to none to fill an empty belly in the middle of a County bicycle journey.
All the food is locally sourced and the ever-changing menu is a delight - even to my discerning European lawyer amour.
Round that out with theme nights and excellent live music and you have yourself your new local favourite! Make a reservation and Tell Michael that Linda sent you ; )
