“An artist´s home”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

The quaint, artistic home of one of the greatest Swedish painters Carl Larsson and his family.
Take your time and walk around outside the house after the tour to soak in the beautiful surroundings. Just go there - You will not regret it!

“a good start to understand art and life in Sweden”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

the home of Carl and Karin presented the real life in Sweden and the life principle to be simple, satisfied, elegant and family oriented !
In the lazy room there is a small picture of 1 Chinese mandarin duck representing love together with a common duck, that is quite unusual because Chinese mandarin ducks should be in pair with meaning of eternal love.
In the living room the standing statue of Buddha is from Japan as the tour guide said, but my friend from Jiuhuashan Holy mountain said they have got exactly the same one there.
Interesting to find those Chinese and Japanese artifacts in a Swedish artists home so many years ago.
Do not forget the painting garden where your kids can do the painting on the paper with Carl Larsson logo. It is so good to see the kids painting in the garden and bring home as the best souvenirs of their trip in Sweden.

“beautiful and a real treat”
Reviewed 13 August 2013

just beautiful to walk round this home decorated with portraits of the larsson family . the guides were well versed and gave a vert interesting account of carl larsson and his family . my only regret is that the tour was so short - i would have liked just a little longer in each room to take it all in .

I would strongly reccomend a visit to the local church which has Carl larsson decoration including tromped'oeil .

“Don't go unless you are really keen”
Reviewed 13 August 2013

Unless you are mad keen on Swedish painters, don't bother visiting. We walked around the garden, and it was okay, but nothing special. The food at the cafes looked average, so I didn't try any.
