“Comfortable room, decent food”
Reviewed 2 September 2012

I spent two weeks at the Hotel Zlatnik on business. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the food was decent. They have flat-screen TVs and free internet in the room.

The staff are professional and courteous.

The hotel is located in the suburbs so it's a bit of a trek to the city but it's very quiet and a nice, safe neighborhood.

Nice decor. Good restaurant and bar. Spacious rooms. Good wifi. Only complaint was slow checkout. Otherwise recommend this for a business trip to belgrade.

this hotel is in a depressingly grey area but close to the bank of Danube which is a plus (you can walk there and find good restaurants and nice view with a 15 minute walk)
rooms are large and nicely furnished, bed is comfortable. The TV is very old model , doesn't fit in a five-star environment. Only big negative about the room is the odor - you can smoke in the rooms and it smells like this. Wifi is free but very slow
restaurant is very good - delicious breakfast and nice fish and salad for dinner (except of Sunday)
staff is polite and speak English
common places are nicely furnished, business centre is quite OK
negative that it does not have any wellness facilities, not a gym or a sauna. It would be needed in order to consider this place even to be a strong 4 star

Room Tip: ask for rooms looking to the main street (see previous comments about the backyard)

Greeted at entrance to the hotel by Dragan, hall porter, who saw me pay the taxi driver 15 euros, told it was 5 euros too much yet taxi control at the airport display 1,500 RSD as the price. Interestingly, the same journey in reverse, when the hotel booked the taxi, cost RSD1,700! As regards the hotel, it is ‘interesting’, in the sense that I cannot recall staying in, or visiting, a five star hotel quite like this. If it was called a hunting lodge, I would not be surprised; the inference as to ‘style’ would be close.

I had a double room, well-equipped though it is a shower only, i.e. no bath tub. Stiflingly hot when I arrived and, initially, I thought there was no air-conditioning. There is but I did not attempt to use it as I was out of the room so much. The buffet breakfast is nowhere near the standard of Mercure hotels in Europe and that was disappointing. There was a very distinct sense of portion control. So, may be, officially, it is a five star...

I stayed in the Zlatnik for 3 nights. The hotel is located about 11 km away from the Belgrade city center in a district called Zemun. The immediate surroundings of the hotel look dreadful and one wonders why they have built a hotel in this area.
The hotel itself is 4-star rather than 5-start. The rooms are spacious but the furniture looks already a bit used, although the hotel was only openend in 2008. The wardrobes are rather small.
The staff is very professional, friendly and very helpful, e.g. I had to print out a few documents and the just told me to use the printer in the business center - free of charge!
The rooms are very clean, breakfast is nice, omelettes, fried or scrambled eggs are made fresh on request.
As other reviewers already mentioned: smoking is also accepted in non-smoking areas, which is annoying if you are a non-smoker.
There is no gym, no pool, sauna or anything like that.
One can walk in about 15 minutes to the Zemun city center and to the esplanade at the river Danube (highly recommended: there are nice restaurants, e.g. Sarna - fish restaurant with excellent food and friendly staff).

Room Tip: rooms to the front road are all rather noisy, because there are dozens of dogs in the neighbourhood...

Stayed 2 weeks in first floor room.....large,well equipped in very good condition. Bathroom was spotless with large shower room, power shower with plenty of hot water and plenty of towels.TV & DVD in room with radio and excellent WiFi . Excellent lighting. Plenty of wardrobe and storage. The restaurant is large with a good menu and service is very good from attentive staff. However, the menu is'fixed' and after a week or so becomes a little repetitive. The quality of the food is high. The breakfast menu is varied with excellent service from the breakfast staff member. Although there are smoking and non smoking restaurants this does not work in practice 1. because smoke drifts in from smoking restaurant and 2. as it appears smoking is the national sport, patrons ignored the signs and smoked on tables around us in non smoking area leading to a very unpleasant dining experience for non smokers. House keeping is excellent. Public areas are well maintained with excellent reception staff. The location suited us well, as we were a 10 minute walk from our business venue but the hotel is a 15 -20 min ride from central Belgrade (taxi approx 1000 dinar). I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment.
