My husband, sister & I have stayed at many villas/apartments in Thailand, and Samui Beach Village is right up there with the best. When we arrived we were given a really warm welcome from Lift & Emma, both of whom went out of their way to ensure we had an amazing holiday First of all we were given a pre-programmed mobile phone with numbers on for the office, spa, restaurant, etc. & also a number to call out of hours in case of an emergency. We stayed in Chaing Chai villa which was perfect for the 3 of us with 2 double bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. Our villa was just yards from the powdery soft beach and was surrounded with palm trees, hibiscus & other tropical trees & bushes making it very private & secluded. The pool was beautiful ~ sparkling clean, and very well maintained. Getting into the pool was just like having a warm bath, and the pool towels were changed every morning. I find that the quality of the pillows say a lot about a resort or hotel, and these were just perfect ~ soft & springy (not flat and lumpy like some). The kitchen was modern and it was a nice touch to find tea, ground coffee & sugar already in the kitchen when we arrived. The villa was cleaned daily and all the staff went out of their way to be helpful. At one stage we couldn't figure out how to work the television so we phoned the office and help arrived within 10 mins. A far cry from our previous resort where we had to wait 24 hours! In the office there are a good selection of DVD's to borrow, together with games & books. The resort lays on a complementary shuttle into Lamai Beach 4 times a day and also to Fisherman's Village on Friday evening where there is a huge night street market, although you do have to get a taxi back. I would definitely recommend Samui Beach Village and hope to return again one day.

When I first arrived with my family at the Samui beach village, we were greeted and welcomed to this luxury resort. The villa that we stayed in was well maintained however there was a problem with the signal of the television (it wasn't clear). The bathrooms and bedrooms were all well maintained an hygienic. The beach was nearby and was great to watch windsurfers out in the sea while lying on deck chairs and having a drink. The service was excellent and the food wasn't half as bad either. However, we stayed for 4 days an by the time we reached the fourth day it was hard finding dishes on the menu that we liked. Overall, it was a great experience with the family and I recommend a visit to this resort.

We stayed in Baan Flora. Great village out of the hustle and bustle but close enough to hit the hot spots. Villa right on the beach with 2 pools and spa. Great view of the ocean. Nice scenery and lot of walking trails. Close to the Tigers. Great support from the amenities with nice dining and health club services etc. We will return.

Oh I miss my Villas so much!
This resort is the perfect location for my perfect vacation:
-Far away from the crowded centre of the village but located not that far when you feel like getting overwhelmed by the busy and warm Lamai. Free shuttle bus to get to Lamai in the morning until 5 pm. To get back you can catch a collective taxi for less than 300 bath!
-White sand beach 30 mt. from my villa: white sand, few people around, crystal water and a nice tiny bar with 3 parasol and 5 sun beds. You might complain with the poor beach equipment while I think it is the best solution to keep the massive tourism far away from this very private paradise.
- Week nr.1 for me was at Villa Baan Tawan. The interior design is made of coconut wood: clean and minimal. The kitchen is huge, full equipped with a
a long bar bench and 4 bar stools. The perfect kitchen!
All the spaces are very well distributed. The bedrooms are spacious and provided with both air conditioning and fan.The mattress are very confy so that a good night sleep is guaranteed.
The outside area is remarkable: the infinity pool is always clean and fresh, the sun beds are very well exposed to the sunshine but if you like enjoying a beer in the shadow there is a typical Thai pavilion to help you.
- Week nr.2 was at Villa Baan Suay.It is a modern villa where the white color is predominant. I really enjoyed my time here but this villa has many points of weakness compared to Baan Tawan. The villa looks a bit tired inside and all the rooms would need a refurbishment.Unfortunately the kitchen is not equipped at all and I find this very annoying. No bowl, no pan, no tools to cook,no dishwasher.
All the bedrooms have a window but it is not possible to open them.Only air conditioning but no fan. The toilets have no air purifier and no window.
Outside the villa has a very nice big pool, a lot of room for the sun beds and 2 parasols but there is no pavilion nor a protection over the table to get a bit of shadow.
The pool is not very well cleaned. There must be something wrong with the filter pipes as the water looks always a bit oily on the surface and there are always many floating insects. I think this Villa can be improved easily and it is a shame if the management does not take action.
The staff at Samui Beach Village Resort is very good and genuine! My best compliments to Emma and all the staff at the reception, the housekeeping dept. and the room service guys.
The room service food is very good and a special thank to Chef Eak who was my private Thai food trainer ;-)
I suggest that you give a bit more variety to your breakfast buffet: every single day the same things for 2 weeks was kind of boring ;-)
I am looking forward to coming back soon!"

Room Tip: Rent one of the Thai Pavilion villas.

We stayed in Baan Khwam Rak for 10 days, 3 adults and 2 young children. The villa was fantastic, very clean, new, great living space and outdoor space with pool. If you are looking for a great base for a family holiday with a nice quiet sandy beach a short stroll away, then this is the spot for you. If you want a busy party holiday, with nightlife etc. then I would suggest you look elsewhere.

The resort offers 4 shuttles per day into Lamai or Chaweng, so you can get to the shops/restaurants you want. Return taxi's vary between 300-600 baht depending on where you are coming from (and how hard you negotiate..).

Resort prices for drinks, food and the Spa are notably higher than normal Thai town prices, since we had a Full Board meal package which made this less significant, nonetheless this is why I've rated 4/5 rather than a full score (which on other aspects it would score).

Enjoy.

Samui Beach Village is a very nice place to stay. The beach is huge and clean, swimming pools are nice, clean and warm. The staff is extra kind. Rooms ate very clean, beds are nice hard and large. We stayed in beach rooms, where we had a large balcony with seaview and our own small swimming pool. Breakfast and reception is about 6 minutes walks from the room and the see. Room service and breakfast are excellent. The beach in front of our room is suitable for kite surfing, the kite center is about 80 m from our beach. See is shallow on the beach, water is clean. When the wind is big, swimming is difficult because the kite surfers in the water.
If we wanted to go shopping or walking, dining in the evenings, we had to ask for a taxi (BAT 400-500 each way), and we drove to Lamai Beach, which was about 6-8 minutes drive from the hotel. If you like crowded beach and big nightlife, this is not the place for you. In the evening you rarely see anyone around, during the day, there are some people on the beach, but not crowded at all.
