We planned a yoga and wellness retreat to Kamalya and were not sure what to expect.
This place is amazing and far exceeded our expectations. The peacefulness, serenity, and beauty of the property helped us achieve our goals from the retreat.
We booked the package and enjoyed the food choices, yoga and other activities and the massage treatments. The staff are amazing and super friendly.
This is a place for adults to escape the " noise" of our lives and refocus ourselves.
we are looking forward to our return trip next year.

This place is amazing though expensive.

The whole place is designed to help you enjoy and relax. The staff are very well trained and helpful and you will feel very well taken care off. The basic hillside rooms are good enough for 1 person or a couple - my friend and I stayed in rooms right by the foot of the Yoga Hall and loved the location. There are a lot of things to do at the resort so there is no need to pay for an expensive room unless you plan to stay in room a lot.

The food is pricey - at least about 10USD per dish, but always well done and delicious. The meal package is not worth it unless you are a big eater and plan to eat all 3 meals.

Therapy and massage sessions in the prime times (late afternoon / early evening) tend to run out fast so book early.

Not recommended for babies and young children <12 . the place is very very hilly and there are many areas where you are expected to be quiet for the benefit of other guests, so I think it is very tough to have babies and young children around.

One of the best wellness retreats in Asia! This was my second time at Kamalaya and I still love everything about it. Try the Sleep Retreat, it will change your life! I was on a 5-night sleep retreat and learned so much, from sleep routine, to evening rituals and what it takes for proper melatonin production, etc. It was mind-blowingly good. And of course the food is amazing. It's so easy to stick to a healthy diet at Kamalaya because everything tastes amazing. So much love and attention goes into everything. Absolutely love what the owners have created here.

This place is made for people to de-stress, detox and get away from the everyday. Internet is available at a charge. This fee is to discourage use and the proceeds go to charity - which I love. No phones in the restaurants, again great. The food is very good, although after nearly 10 days I was ready for a change.
The rooms are thai style and simple but with everything you need. It is definitely not a place to expect total plush luxury. If you are after a top hotel like Four Seasons, this place is not for you. There is a mini bar with healthy snacks etc at extra charge. No television.
It's a place of self discovery, healing, re-booting and de-stressing.
The meal inclusive packages include everything incl non alcoholic. Fresh coconut juice is highly recommended and available in abundance. The other juices both vegetable and fruit mixes are delicious.
Treatments are very good although be prepared to climb a zillion stairs to get to your treatment room. There is a lot of incidental exercise. There are a lot of very steep hills to climb but calling for the little buggy cars is no problem.
The staff are wonderful. So polite, sweet and ready to please.
There are many repeat guests that come back year after year and I met several of them. This in itself says so much.
To sum up, I would go back. I don't know that I would be an every year regular but will return one day.
If you're in need, go.
