I am a regular vistitor of this hotel and was getting a bit disturbed by the negative reviews I have seen on Tripadvisor.

Most people are right when saying that the rooms are a bit average. But, if you as myself, visit this hotel for business purposes, you could argue how important the room is. What I find important is that the room is clean and that the bed is comfortable, which is both the case.

Other things that are important for a business traveller is the bar/restaurant, the overall service and the location.

First of all the bar/restaurant.
Eventhough the menu is normally a bit small the quality of the meals is very good and also good priced. Especially when you also consume the vouchers you get if you are a frequent guest. (150 SEK per day for a top floor member)
If you really have problems with finding something to your liking, there is always the day's special you could ask for. These meals change every day and you can get them with meat or fish.

The service in the restaurant is good! You get serviced fast and things like water and bread are on the house.
What could be better is that not all waiters seem to give the same service. If you happen to have one of the newer employees then this is certainly lacking.

The overall service, I would call very friendly and open. The staff alsways tries to accomodate your needs where possible. So if you are not happy with the room, then normally they are able to find you a better one.

The location is perfect! Very close to the trainstation on one side and to the city centre on the other side. Also the street to the side where people seem to complain about a lot, I didn't find an issue. It is a one way street out of the centre and I don't regard it is very busy, but off course opinion can differ!

Overall a very good hotel for a good price (average 100 euro per night).
I will remain a frequent guest here.

Room Tip: If you are there in the summer time, it is a good choice to have a room in one of the 'side towe...

My experiences of hotels in Scandinavia have by and large left me with the most positive of impressions, but the Scandic in Linkoping proved a thorough exception. The room was on the smallish side, which was not the problem, but it had all the charm and luxury of a youth hostel room, but none of the budget rates to go with it.
Furnishings were very worn and nearly all surfaces showed serious scuff marks. Lights and light switches were in odd places and left me sitting at the desk on the rock hard chair to read, as the bed light shone everywhere but near my book.
The internet connection was very poor, very slow, and went on and off endlessly, which is disastrous when using a VPN connection, as one has to log in again every time the connection goes off.
The hallway showed serious water marks on the carpet the entire length of the space (some 30 m I would guess) and could have done with a good clean.
Arriving at 8pm on a Sunday night I discovered the bar was already closed and the restaurant was not open for the entire day. The disinterested staff pointed in the general direction of the wilted sandwiches in the fridge. I had to make do with an insanely priced sandwich that probably had been packed a day or two earlier.
Towels in the bathroom were totally threadbare, one had a nice big hole. Was not replaced for my entire stay.
And the bane of my stays in most hotels: the gorgeous lipstick/lip imprints of the previous guest on a glass/mug. I left it in the hallway where it stayed for more than a day on the floor until I took it down to the reception. Staff looked a bit bored by it.

One would think that when paying a whopping EUR200 a night that there would be a safe in the room? Well, think again.

My room faced the parking lot where every morning bright and early earth movers would start with noise that rattled the windows and made sleep even with ear plugs impossible.

Going back to Linkoping next month and have booked at the Best Western on the square, hoping much it will be better.

From the beginning I was really impress with hotel policy for the environment such as reuse the towel, but after I finished shower and I could not find the bath mat in the bathroom I felt strange but Maybe they forgot to put it. Then I called receptionist and she said that the hotel has stopped supplying them to guest rooms. So it means we have to use the bath towel or hair towel for bath mat WHAT A DIRTY! 1. Can you imagine that some guest used the towel for bath mat and 2 day after you use it with your face? Friendly environment is a good idea but hygiene of guest is very important as well 2. I think the bath mat is important because guest can slippery in the bath room. Internet signal on the 4floor is very low almost dead. The last, we had to pick up the extra towel at the reception by ourselves because there is only one at the reception in this day

Good hotel, about 5 mins walk from the train and bus stations. Comfortable and spacious rooms, with free wifi, but curiously with no wardrobe or drawers for storing clothes -- just a few hooks and clothes hangers on one wall. Also there's a small self-service shop in the foyer, selling all kinds of things a traveller might need. Wonderful breakfast, with a huge range of things to choose from. The coffee was fairly ordinary, but otherwise it was great. A little expensive, but hey, this is Sweden so the cost was not surprising.

Stayed at this hotel for one night of 10th April 2013 during my business trip. Linkoping is a small town and the hotel is one of the best ones amongst the Scandic hotel chains that i have seen. This is a newly built no frill hotel and is within walking distance of Linkoping Railway Station. I was to stay at Linkoping for 3 nights but unfortunately got booking only for one night as the hotel was full. The rooms are small but comfortable. The hotel has a lobby area part of which is the main restaurant and the other part acts as a cafe restaurant. The staff try to cater to all your needs. I ordered a tuna for dinner and they did it too well for my comfort. So when i simply mentioned it to the waitress, they did a fresh tuna based on my needs at no extra cost. The hotel has a buffet breakfast which offers an elaborate spread. Overall a comfortable, clean and nice no frill hotel in a small town like Linkoping.

This hotel is located very close to the train station in Linköping. The lobby is very nice. The rooms are rather small and basic. You will get a good night's sleep here but do not expect anything fancy. The shower leaked a lot and the bathroom in general was somewhat outdated. The buffet breakfast, which was included, was very good. There were many options such as cold cuts, many types of herring, Swedish whole wheat breads, Was a crackers, organic milk, including lactose-free milk, eggs, etc.
