I and my little dog stayed at Elite Park Avenue Hotel for two nights, July 5th- July 7th 2012, and it was perfect. I liked it a lot and will come back.

The hotel is located in central Gothenburg on the city’s main boulevard, Avenyn, with a lot of restaurants (they have their own Park Aveny Café and Locatelli), pub’s (they have their own in the hotel called The Bishop’s Arms), dance places, theatres, museums and shopping just outside the door.
I just used their local pub were I could put the tab on the room, very conveniently.
I booked this hotel just because I could bring my little dog and we got a single clean room on 7th floor, which was quiet, with adequate space, comfortable bed, nice shower, small desk, minibar and TV-chair with table. Couldn’t ask for more.
The breakfast buffet was magnificent. Hot dishes as pancakes for kids, small typical Swedish hotdogs –prinskorv-, scrambled eggs or boiled eggs, bacon and porridge. Cold section had plenty of fruit, salads, toppings for sandwiches, Swedish raw fish, i.e. kind of sushi, -sill-, and much more and of course juice, coffee and tea, as well as Swedish –filmjölk-.

The location, pets-positive, amenities, comfort, close to parking garage, and a small grassy area behind the hotel, for my dog to do her business, makes it the number one hotel I like to come back too.

Room Tip: I didn't use the Spa. If you have pets tell them at booking time. If you arrive with a car use the parking garage at "Lorensbergsgaraget" just 2 min walk away, instead of their valet parking. You will save a lot of money. Lorensbergsgaraget is located in the corner of Södra Vägen and Berzeligatan in Lorensberg (412 53).

For business reasons i had to spend the weekend in Gothenburg a few weeks ago. I've been there a few times already but i think the location for this hotel was perfect for a "tourist". Within a 20 min walk you can go to a lot of different places, Liseberg Park, the Pier, the opera, plenty of restaurants, ice cream shops, coffee shops and a the big shopping center in town.
A good tip if you bring you're running shoes and dont want to go too far is to go for a jog on 4 soccer fields 3 blocks away .. nice view and pretty quiet.

We stayed in a very lovely suite, with a view overlooking some greenery.
Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and very helpful.
Breakfast was also a pleasant experience.
We booked spa therapies over 2-days - the therapists were professional and are well recommended. Guests can use the spa, but need to book in advance.

The best thing about the hotel is the location! Absolutely fantastic - walking distance to some of the best eateries I've ever experienced in Sweden. And walking distance to the centre, shopping, museum and main sights.

Overall, a really well located hotel for visiting the city.

Only stayed for one night, but if I should go back to Gothenburg I would choose this hotel again. The location is the best. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was good, but very crowded and itwas difficult for many to find a place to sit. All in all a good hotel at a very good location!
