Owner description: A JOURNEY THROUGH VOLVO'S HISTORY Welcome to a world of iconic car models, groundbreaking innovations and imaginative prototypes. At Volvo Museum you can take a trip through Volvo's history and heritage, all the way from the start in 1927. Our collection encompasses a wide range of passenger cars, buses and heavy trucks as well as marine engines and construction equipment. But you don't have to be a petrolhead (or a dieselhead for that matter) to appreciate Volvo Museum. There's lots for everybody to experience - whether you want to learn about a unique piece of Swedish 20th century history or just want to be nostalgic about the good old times. And the youngest ones will enjoy the childrens' car -- a classic Volvo to play around in.

And if you are interested in Volvo and the history of their carbuilding then you must go there. The museum is placed right by the sea so you can also take a nice walk after. You will find cars of all stages in Volvos car building history, information with every car also in english and of course the ever so important restaurant where you can load up with food and drink. There is also some future projects and a huge babyseat in which you can sit and be photographed and on the way out you can buy souvenirs in form og Volvo branded clothing, toy/collector cars and such. Great place for a rainy day.

Thank Sabine S

A great museum showcasing the legendary Volvo. A must see for car enthusiasts of any type, not just Volvo fans. Right in the heart of Volvo land, not too far from Gothenburg.

Nice displays showcase Volvo's history from early , functional designs up until modern functional designs. Oh, that's not quite fair - the entire spectrum of Volvo is represented here from modern concept cars to rally winners and even the car than made The Saint extra cool in the 60's - Simon Templar's 1800!

It's a bit of a cab ride from the city center, but if you are a car buff - make the time.

We just picked up our new Volvo from the factory nearby as part of their Overseas Delivery program. Naturally we had to visit the museum! First of all, it is quite a distance from the city so arrival by car is advised. I'm sure you can get there on the excellent public transit but just beware it will be quite a trek.

The museum is large and the exhibits of cars (right back to the earliest models) and other Volvo products (trucks, boat engines, rocket engines, buses and more) is over two floors and seems endless! Car buffs will not want to leave this place. The exhibits have excellent signage in Swedish and English. Plan to spend up to two hours if you want to take it all in. I was especially interested in the trucks. I see them on the road all the time but had no idea what its like in the cab. Well, now I know. One truck cab on display had a living area almost as big as some hotel rooms I have stayed in!

There is a cafe and shop on site. Admission is 60 SEK. Recommened.
