This is a top-quality hotel. The location is very nice, next to the train station area with many restaurants nearby. Also close by is part of the waterfront and a couple of parks. It was still cold when we were there, but these seem to be popular sites for the locals to visit so it is easy to get some local flavor. The included breakfast was very nice, but the seating area was crowded and of course everyone arrives at about the same time, so often people were wandering around looking for a seat. Valet parking was expensive, and it took quite a while (30+ minutes) to get the car delivered even though we had given them advance notice. Sweden is a very expensive place but this hotel seemed to be on the top end of its quality.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the train station have a great view. Those facing the interior only see the atrium...

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a stag do. Big hotel, huge lobby areas, vert warmly.

Good location as across from central station, and only 5-10mins walks to bars and clubs.

Rooms were of decent size, however very dated and bathroom not great.

Overall pleased with stay.

We paid £180 a night (1800 SEK) which seemed the norm for decent hotel in Gothenburg

Great location and very good service - especially during the buffet breakfasts where coffee is served promptly and used plates quietly removed. Very unobtrusive and efficient. There's a large bar/lounge in the atrium serving esepcially good fresh prawn salad sandwiches and a good place for some people watching while catching up on work. Had a business room on the top floor which offered good views over the large square in front of the railway station - hardly heard all the trafic when the windows were closed. The spa's a little small and tired. Room service was of varying quality - some days immaculate, on other days coffee or tea or sugar would not get replaced. A surprising detail was the expert handling of a visit of the Chinese PM with huge delegation during my stay - it didn't interrupt normal business or service which, having experienced the occasional big event at other hotels where guests were virtually banned from certain areas for the duration, was much appreciated. Chapeau.

Room Tip: Business rooms on top floor, especially those with balcony

Have been to this hotel back in March 2007 and again for two separate nights in April 2012. Accommodations were arranged by Volvo. There are some differences with the rooms – the first night we were on a higher floor and the room was a bit more modern. The second night (a few days later) the room had a cool coloured light setup in the headboard (see photos). The later room was on the second floor about 180 degrees from where the elevators are – it was a LONG walk. (Higher floors have a connecting walkway that is missing on the second floor.) If you don’t want a long walk – ask if they assign you something on the second floor.

Hotel is still in great shape – clean and everything in order. Seems to be a variety of folks staying here, both tourists and business.

There are a few parking spaces on the (tiny) access road in front of the hotel – you have to pay the machine and put a ticket in your window. Albeit more expensive a better option is the hotel’s valet parking and they provided pretty quick service to retrieve the car.

The hotel is a short distance from the central station as well as a large shopping complex. Although getting to the hotel can be a bit confusing it is pretty easy to get in and out of town from here.

Will likely return here on our next visit to Goteborg.

Room Tip: watch out for long walks to some rooms on the second floor - ask if you get assigned a room on floor...

Stayed for a week on business and it was a pleasant experience. The location was close to the Aveny with good restaurants and cultural spots at walking distance from the hotel. The hotel had good dining options with a pretty good breakfast with good variety and choice. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with most amenities needed by the business traveller. Staff were courteous and was keen to help with questions on sight seeing in Gothenburg.

All that was good, so what did I not like?
1. I quite disliked the old fashioned small TV (see photo) which was not very useful at all
2. The hotel did not carry adequate number of power plug adapters which international business travellers would find useful
3. The carpets were old and dated and needs renovation
4. The bed was too soft for my preference

In summary, I liked my stay in Radisson Blu. I am a frequent traveller to Gothenburg and this is one of my preferred hotels in Gotheburg. I will be staying here again.

I really liked this hotel for my business needs, although the rooms are somewhat spare and a bit worn. Room was nice and quiet and I could adjust the temperature to my liking. The location right next to the train station is terrific and the bus from the airport is quick and easy. There are 2 restaurants inside the hotel and dozens of others just steps away. I had the buffet breakfast each morning, which offered a lot of choices. I tried to get into the bar/casual part of the restaurant on Thursday night but it was too crowded so I ended up in the more formal part, which was disappointing. But the menu, while more limited and upscale, was excellent. Overall, I will stay here again mostly due to the very nice staff and excellent location.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the outside - there are interior, atrium rooms that don't offer any kin...

The unforgivable sin in these days of computerisation and security concerns is to let a guest check in, and then find when you get to your assigned room that someone else is still using it. The excuse from the front desk? System failure, and then just give you another room (this was not at a busy time, and the check in was at about 17.30, so surely "the system" should have all vacant , clean rooms listed, but not issue duplicate keys to occupied rooms). No offer of upgrades, a free drink or carparking, just blame the system, never mind the discomfort to you, and the guest occupying your assigned room, and inspite of their "total satisfaction" guarantee. A bad start to an otherwise quite pleasant hotel stay.
