“Excellent, creative food at a price”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

We had the 7-course tasting menu, and every dish is a pleasant surprise. The taste is perfectly balanced with a slight hint of sourness. Since it is mid-summer, everything is refreshing and delightful. The dinner took 2.5 hours and vastly improved our mood. It's expensive (USD $110/person without wine), but well-worth it.

“Great service, very good food”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

I reserve five stars for top restaurants. However, we ate a very nice 7 course meal with great wines at Koka. The location is the best in Gothenburg and the service is also great. I definitely recommend this restaurant to everybody who like a modern, Nordic cuisine based on local ingredients.

“Fabolous”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

Earlier this year Swedish Chef Björn Persson decided to close his Michelin starred restaurant Kock & Vin with one star in the Guide. After a swift refurbishment of the kitchens and diningroom, a brand new restaurant called Koka arose a few weeks later from what had earlier been Kock & Vin. With adjustments in the interior, new menus and prices, Persson is operating Koka with the same team and the same Swedish cuisine as before.

A day after Koka’s opening my girlfriend and I payed them a visit, and a few hours later we were happily satisfied after a flawless experience. All the food is of Swedish produce and we enjoyed oysters from Grabbestad, Bitterna lamb, Skrei and an extra matured Kvibille blue cheese to mention some.

We had a great night, celebrated with delicate and interesting food from the west of Sweden.

Pricey, but not more than other restaurants in the same league.

“Great local food”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

I had a very nice time at Koka. Very good service. I had the three courses meal, and that included 3 amuse-bouches.I enjoyed everything, I would say that the menu is very priceworthy for being in Sweden, but unfortunately the wines are very expensive.

“Enjoyable Swedish gourmet food”
Reviewed 18 November 2013 via mobile

Had their 6 course "Sinnenas meny" and it was all very enjoyable, but only 1 or 2 dishes were truly exceptional. Wine pairing, on the other hand, was really, really good. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
