It was almost 15 years since last time. I liked it then and I liked it now! Specially the collections and I recognized and remembered the paintings of Sigrid Schauman, Magnus Enckell and Tyko Sallinen and good to see the prints of Pentti Kaskipuro, Outi Heiskanen and other great Finnish printmakers. A very nice museum to spend some hours in and don´t miss the chapel and the small Pierre Bonnard, nearly missed that one, it´s a beauty !

On our final day in Helsinki we visited the Amos Andersson Art Museum. Mr Andersson was a wealthy businessman living in Helsinki during the first half of the 20th century. The museum contains mainly art from the early 20th century plus residential furniture from the same era. There is a small chapel on the top floor with some paintings as well as a beautiful organ. Photography is not allowed anywhere in the museum. Closed Tuesdays.

I spent several very enjoyable hours at this cozy art museum located in the city center and unlike, most helsinki museums open on Mondays and extended hours on Wednesdays.I saw fine paintings by such Twentieth Century Finnish painters as;Alfred Finch("View from Fiesole"),Ragmar Ekelund,Eero Nelimarkka,Marcus Collin("Lappland Landscape")and Tove Janson("Fantasy").There were also a few fine International paintings by painters like;Paul Signac("Pont de Grenelle"),Louis Valtat, and Roger Fry.I also liked Modern artist,Paulina Purrhonen's"Man of Sorrows"for its creativity.
