“Very authentic!”
Reviewed 29 May 2013

Very traditional Finnish sauna that harks back to simpler times! It has not been renovated like some other saunas in the area and you really get a feel for the real experience here.

Complimentary biscuits and water, space to lounge and drink while putting the world to rights. A very pleasant experience. Good heat and good steams!

“the real sauna”
Reviewed 29 March 2013

if you want to try a genuine helsinki sauna this is the right place.you really can meet native peole that use to do sauna as we use to go to caffes or restaurant.you pay 10 euro and you can have towels, caffe or water for free.they use to drink for hours in the sauna.you will have a locker so don t worry.someone leave shampoo or shower gel in the sauna for free use.anyway no easy to find but the 3B tram stop close to.

“Authentic Finnish sauna”
Reviewed 1 May 2012

This is one of the three public saunas still existing. Arla is my favourite, because of it's peaceful and relaxing atmosphere... like in my grandfather's sauna decades ago. And the steam, you can't beat it.

“Nice sauna in historical setting”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

I have been to Arla sauna many times and it has seen better times and worse. The temperature in sauna is rather mellow and there is only one body shower (and a hand shower). You can go and sit on the bench outside sauna while bathing, but also the dressing room is nice, with varying amount of magazines to read. It had a blow-drier but it broke, hopefully they will get a new one. It is sometimes a relaxing experience, like having a sauna and being at the library, sometimes it is not so. The people who keep it are into arts stuff so there are art exhibitions also. Sauna is very centrally located.
