“Great location, tiny room.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

Hotel Finn occupies the 5th and 6th floor of the building. You use your keycard to open the downstairs door and also to open the upstairs door in the evening (when the reception is closed).
Decoration is modern and pleasant. The room (twin beds) was tiny. It was probably the smallest room I ve ever stayed in. There was no rack or bench to put luggage on to. We had to keep them on the floor, and then open them on top of the bed in order to get stuff.
TV was large and wall-mounted. Bathroom was tiny as well but with nice fittings. It does not have a shower base, so everything gets wet when you have a shower.
We had a view of the towering hotel torni right in front of us, which was nice I suppose.
Room was clean and looked modern, albeit really really tiny!

The location is ideal. Its a short walk to the esplanades. There are also many bars in the area.
Helsinki is a very expensive city. At 90 euros per night for a twin room, Hotel Finn was a relative bargain compared to what else was available.

Dear Evan76,
Thank you for your review!

We agree that our rooms are a bit variable in size, as the building is an old one. We’ll soon divide our M (twin) rooms into two different categories, so that it will be easier for our guest to choose between a bit smaller and a bit more spacious twin rooms!

Best regards,
Lauri

I stayed in Hotel Finn over April for two nights. It was a very nice and cheap hotel.

Customer Service: Lovely, very helpful, great skills of English, professional members of staff

Location: The best one, just 2 mins from the central train and bus station (very helpful for me, as a tourist

Room: Spacious, well-decorated, tidy, clean. No noise as the room was located on the 5th floor and I enjoyed some good sleep!

I am very happy with everything I had there :) Great work guys, keep it up!

Right in the centre of the city in a side street opposite the Stockman department store, the en-suite rooms are small but very comfortable, the staff here are extremely friendly and helpful in giving directions and pointing out places to go ect, this is a budget hotel and the prices are very reasonable, but don`t expect a shabby hotel, its nicely decorated and everything is new and clean, the hotel is on the sixth floor of the building so there is no noise from the streets below despite there being a few late night bars in the area.

A great option if you want to stay in the very center of Helsinki, without spending too much, but having all the elementary services required from a hotel. Functional, clean rooms and bathrooms, very friendly reception staff. The breakfast is served in a restaurant next door (1st floor) with great views on the Mannerheimintie with a surcharge of 6€ per day. I booked and paid for a “small” room, but when I made the check-in I was given a “large” one at the same price. The hotel has a very handy and transparent booking system on their website to see rooms’ prices, photos and availability. Very good price-quality ration! If needed, will surely get back to Finn.

Hotel Finn is 10 mins away from the port where Tallink and Silja cruise liners dock. It is right in the heart of the city and the shopping centre, cathedral, Hard Rock Cafe, boats to suomenlinna fortress, tourist information centre, etc are within walking distance from the hotel. The tram stop is also 2 mins away from the hotel.

The hotel is located on the 5th and 6th floors of a building. However once you are inside the hotel foyer, it's cozy and quiet. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, especially after a long narrow corridor. The bath area with a shower, WC and sink is just rightly sized. The room has a big window overlooking the main road below, double bed, table, side tables and a chair. But the winner is the hotel's proximity to the city square. Breakfast is in the next door kilda hotel, standard buffet with generous helpings of cheese, fruits, etc. you also a get a discount you are staying in hotel Finn.

A good place to crash out and save on travel costs for moving about in Helsinki.

Thank you for your kind words! Helsinki's city centre is quite a compact, and as we are in the heart of it, almost everything is just a few steps away!

I have stayed in a number of Hotels in Helsinki over the 13 years I have been visiting the city. Hotels in general are pricey and this time I thought I was would try something a little more affordable as a change. The pricing was great in comparison to the other hotels with similar ratings, and overall the ratings were very accurate. The entrance is a shared glass door for the building, it is a very basic entryway with an old style lift (very small) that you need to open and close the doors to use it. The hotel is actually located on the 5th and 6th Floors.

You leave the elevator to a very nice and funky designed foyer, the staff were great and my room was on the 5th floor, so back to the elevator and to my room #513. It was a decent space with 2 single beds, a good size desk for working on, the power socket whilst not at the desk is close enough, the fit out seemed all new. The bed was comfortable and the cover was warm enough and large enough for me (I am 6" and large). The internet was easy to connect to and fast enough. The bathroom floor was heated and very clean, the shower is open plan so the sink does get a little wet and the space is limited but it worked fine. Breakfast was at restaurant Kiila about 10m down the alley and was a fairly normal Scandinavian type buffet. The room was a little cold but I am Australian so the weather change from 30c to 5c was part of that

Overall for the price the hotel was comfortable, located excellently and felt welcoming. I know I will be staying there again in future visits and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Room Tip: I booked for 2 people (even though I was single) and I think that is how I got a larger room with 2...

Thank you for your kind and detailed review. We agree that our entrance isn't probably our finest part - but what's inside matters most! You're very welcome again!

The location is good~ close to the central station and shopping malls (Forum and Stockmann). Staffs are friendly! The room is clean with wifi, though the size of the room is a little bit small (but it is acceptable since it is a budget hotel). I will stay in Hotel Finn if I go to Helsinki again!
