We took the local bus from Helsinki station (as recommended) which seemed to take forever as it wound it's way through suburbia.
Upon arrival, purchased lunch at the café (standard overpriced sandwiches) and then headed off.
Whilst it's a lovely walk, there seemed to be a large amount of empty enclosures which was disappointing. There is also no specified nocturnal area that we found so many night time animals were asleep and completely hidden.
One of the few delights of this zoo is that there are peacocks walking around amongst the visitors.
Having only spent around 2 to 3 hours here absolute maximum, grandchildren were bored due to lack of visible animals and we caught the ferry back to Helsinki.
