One is apt to sit and listen to Sibelius' Composition of Filandia and feel the moment of this great composer.whilst a gentle zephyr brush against your person as you cast a glance at the lake close by.

“Nice winter walk”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

The sibelius monument is a largish modern metal sculpture, quite attractive in its own right, but benefits from being set in a nice park at the water's edge in Helsinki. Good place to go for a winter's walk and probably nice in summer too but I haven't been there then. Parking could be difficult if it was very busy as its all on street. Might be better to use public transport

To get to Sibelius Park & Monument can do it by walking from the Senate Square (Senaatintori) which will take you approximately 40 minutes, you can also take the trams that are very easy to use (it's for free if you purchased the Helsinki Transportation Card) or can also get there if you take the Helsinki Panorama Sightseeing (also at very low cost with the Helsinki Card) as it is one of the places where this tour makes a stop in the surroundings of Taka-Töölö neighborhood.
It's a very nice and big park, once there you can easily get to the monument and bust of the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. The monument was erected in 1967 by the artist Eila Hiltunen. It consists of several tubes put together vertically and due to the multidimensionality of this peace of art, it recreates sounds and echoes in the interiors because this monument can be walked along inside and outside. Right next to the monument you will find the bust of the Finnish musician.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed 7 December 2013

The Sibelius Park was my number one on the list when visiting Helsinki however, I got very disappointed. After walking for 30 min to get there (nice walk by the way) I at first got a bit confused as the park I got to was cluttered with lots of toilet paper and much smaller than expected. I might have had a bit too high expectations, but the only thing to see in the park is the Sibelius Monument and the statue (i.e. head) of Sibelius, both located next to each other. Meaning that walking through the park is just a waste of time (but not too much time as the park is very small). Visited it in November, so it might be nicer in the summer.

“Charming structure”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

The Sibelius Monument, resembling organ pipes, is made of welded steel with the bust of the composer on one side. The monument is one of Helsinki's most popular statues and one of the most well known tourist attractions. There is a bust found near the Organ which is Sibelius.
