“Look closely; the detail is amazing!”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

This monument is very interesting. It is located off the "beaten track" of the typical tourist, but if you have time, it is worth seeing. It can be frustrating if there are too many people around it, but try to take time to look at the unique detail on each "pipe." And be sure to walk over the the shoreline; it's a nice view.

“Nice Park With Unique Monument”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

This is an average city park with a highly-publicized unique modern art monument. Envision 40-50 steel cylinders standing on their ends with different finishes, different heights, some with relief, some with engravings and some with cut-outs. It is very well done and quite popular with visitors and certainly one-of-a-kind. I often judge attractions such as this after-the-fact on the basis of now knowing what it looks like, would I have gone there if I knew what it looked like prior to visiting. In this case, the answer is YES. I recommend this attraction

“MODERN ART SCULPTURE MONUMENT IN HONOUR OF JEAN SIBELIUS”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

If you like modern art then this is a good one.

It is made out of 600 hollow pipes that are joined together to portray Rhythm in Music.

Jean Sibelius was a famous composer in Finland.

There is also an offbeat statue with the Head of Sibelius on top of a rock formation and obscure metal pieces next to it.

The monument weighs 24 tons.

“Interesting!”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

I'm not a very cultural person so it was quite interesting to hear of the history of the monument and to actually look at the monument itself!

If you have time, why not go take a look.

Just to note, usual truckloads of tourist may come by often and crowd the monument

“Splendid”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

One is apt to sit and listen to Sibelius' Composition of Filandia and feel the moment of this great composer.whilst a gentle zephyr brush against your person as you cast a glance at the lake close by.
