The Helsinki central train station is very centrally located in heart of Helsinki and well linked with tram lines and public buses. The airport train runs frequently and takes about 30 minutes to reach and cost only euro 5 one way if purchase at a sundry kioks shop which is cheaper by euro 50 cents. However the airport train platform is quite a distance back from main train station entrance.

There are shops, restaurants where you can eat while waiting.

Just out from the main train terminal is the tram stop where many tram lines stop here for you to connect. The station platform is same height as the tram so is easy to pull your luggage.

Highly recommend to take the train which is efficient and convenient.

Really minimal design but breathtaking. The station is in very central point, is in great condition and offers many and frequent routes.

Fascinating facade and Art Deco building, it is certainly worth a look. The trains are efficient and it is easy to understand the destinations ticket machines and the times. Can get busy so make sure you leave plenty of time to catch your train.
There are lots of shops at the station and even more on the lower level.
Easy to get from the airport to the station which is located in the centre of Helsinki.

Heart of the city with an impressive facade. Its a very convenient for people to travel to other parts of the city right from the city centre.

My wife and I used the central railway station to travel to and from the Helsinki Airport to the City Center. The ticketing kiosks were easy to use and the train service(s) were listed well and easy to understand. The cost to travel to and from the airport was €5 per person, each way.

Helsinki Central Railway Station has nothing too much to offer for travelers beside its original function. From architecture design perspective it is quite poor and does not worth more than a picture.

It's a railway station, it's not a tourist site. You can get from one place to another but don't travel here to specifically see this. There is nothing to see.

I visited the station a number of times travelling through and to buy tickets for travelling around the city. I found the statues almost comic in their pretentiousness but you cannot help noticing the station as it is a good place to get trains to the airport.

A sight to behold, even if you are not into trains. The outside is very impressive. The ticket office / information office area before you go through on to the concourse is cathedral like.
It's also even worth walking down one of the platforms to look back.
