“Pizzas you havent tasted before”

Really nice pizza, with special ingredients and combinations. Put it together with nice prices and good service and you have a good place to go and eat when in Helsinki.

“Good original sound”
Reviewed 22 December 2013

We had 4 different "pizzas" and liked a lot.
Very original and high quality food. Service also very good.
Price level typical finnish, expensive.
I could recommend this to all.

“Outstanding Artisan Pizzas”
Reviewed 8 December 2013 via mobile

First if all, as far as I have so far been concerned there is only kind pizza, that is the traditional Pizza Margherita. The Margherita, topped with modest amounts of tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. This pizza I think from the late 19th century was attributed to baker who worked at the pizzeria "Pizzeria di Pietro" in Napoli. Pizzas has come a long way since then, and particularly Finland is known for some excellent pizza restaurants, with toppings evolving from the traditional to very creative.
I have tried several pizzerias in Helsinki, and have had few pizzas at Skiffer, the Chili Con Carne, Fisherman, and a Buffalo mozzarella and basil pizza. The toppings are of high quality and the base a thin crust and the tomato sauce is superb. Service is a bit introvert and non memorable. My favorite remain the basic simple version with Buffalo Mozzarella and Basil, call me traditionalist. Skiffer has my vote as the premier pizzeria in Helsinki, for the traditionalist and the more adventurous.

“Tasty Unique Pizzas”
Reviewed 20 October 2013 via mobile

We were struggling to find somewhere for lunch on a Sunday in late October in Helsinki when we came across this place. We weren't aware it was a pizza restaurant until we were seated! My wife had the chilli con carne and I had the HPB2. Both were very tasty with a slight twist on the classic pizza styles. Very filling and yummy. Pizzas are huge - bigger than the plate!

“Pizza out of the ordinary, well worth visiting”
Reviewed 15 September 2013

Skiffer is one of those niche restaurants that is very clear on its identity and what it does. Super thin crust pizza with artisanal and quirky toppings. Don't be put of by the quirky though, these are very well thought out combinations and deliver an amazing range of flavours.

The chilli con carne came with sliced red chilli for some heat, avocado, cheese and tortilla chips giving a feel of the best nacho's ever, on a crispy, oven roasted pizza base. The surf and turf mixed small crayfish, spicy chorizo and more sliced red chilli's. Other menu options included goat cheese, pine nuts and strawberries. For those feeling less adventurous they do have a plain pizza with tomato, mozzarella or artichoke. The Pizza's are big enough to share, or just bring an appetite.

From our experience, we would recommend a walk on the wild side.
