say "Kokoushotelli Rantapuisto Oy", now say it three times fast:) the hotel is excellent, price is a bit on the steep side for a college student though, stayed for one night only, highly recommended, if you can afford it

Always stayed in this hotel when we are in Helsinki.
It is very convenient for traveling by car.
Located in a quiet green area on the shore
Staying at this hotel is soothing, especially if you have to go to the sauna or stroll through the dark alleys of the park around the hotel and go in the evening on the bay
Cosy rooms with complimentary Wireless internet.
Also, happy friendly staff and great breakfast

This hotel is situated in beautiful country side next to sea, near subway station Rastilla.
The way to the city takes about 20-30 minutes, its possible to access the hotel with public transport
whole day and night (day - subway & bus, night - night bus to Rastilla).

Polite receptionist, cozy room, one computer with internet connection and printer in the hall, specious bathroom, and perfect breakfest (including nutmeg melon and some finnish dishes) are composing from staying in this hotel unforgettable experience.

Will come again!!

if you are looking for a Helsinki hotel, this hotel is not good! If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel close to Helsinki in a nice nature area close to sea and you have a car: here is a good value option. The rates start 45 EUR in low season and shouldn't be much higher than 80 in more busy times.

I couldn't find any Wifi in my room and if I remember right the cable wasn't for free (how can this be a conference hotel?)

Basic small rooms as usual in Finland, recently rennovated - if you like the location and good rate: go for it!

Above avarge only because of the value and nice surroundings!!! Compare it to Hilton Kalastatorppa (which is closed to City and historical site)

Really lovely hotel outside of the city centre! Great views of the sea and the staff (all of whom spoke very good english) were extremely helpful. Good food and well priced by city standards.
Well worth a visit and if you are not going by car take the metro to Vuosaari station where you can get a taxi to the hotel for 10 euros.
I'll definitely be going back in the summer for more R & R

I stayed here for three nights in June on the midsummer weekend, booked through Expedia. The hotel itself is some 10 miles from Helsinki city centre, and a 20 minute walk through a housing area to Rastla metro station. It must be said that if you want the bustle of the city then this hotel is not for you but I had a car and wanted a bit of peace and quiet , so the hotel was perfect.
The hotel is mainly geared to conferences but is used a lot in the summer by tourists as well. It isn't much to look at, very 1960's, inside and out.
Admittedly the hotel was quiet as it was the weekend of a national holiday but the check in was smooth and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The room was a single, comfortable and with air conditioning. The shower was excellent.
The complex is sprawling, the single rooms are in a block on their own, the doubles/twins are attached to the hotel. The restaurant is in the main building, breakfast was more than adequate, fantastic coffee, but, as it was the quiet season, the restaurant was not open in the evenings.. There is also a gym (in what used to be the air raid shelter!). The hotel also has free internet access.
However, the main draw of the hotel is the peace and quiet - I was the only guest in the single room block. The hotel has its own sauna on the shore of the Baltic. The views are superb and it was great relaxing down by the beach and letting the world go by. I loved the hotel but I did see it at its quietest, and one of the receptionists did say the hotel gets very busy from September through to May.

I stayed at Rantapuisto for one night in September. The hotel (which, by the way, is huge) seems mostly aimed at business conferences, so it was very quiet on a Fri-Sat night. It's in the middle of the woods by the sea, but not very far from the nearest metro station and bus stop. The hotel has its own little beach and a great beach sauna. The fairly small single room was modern, comfortable and clean, and was wired with an internet connection. Breakfast was varied and extremely good, although I had too little time to sit down to really enjoy it. This hotel is not for the party-goer or someone who wants to be close to the city center, but wonderful for someone who enjoys being surrounded by nature. I didn't ask if the hotel restaurant was open when I arrived, but I doubt that it would have been, since it was so quiet.
