We had a table of 6 here for dinner on saturday night. I thought the good was really top drawer. It's an intimate little spot and the front of house staff were perfectly attentive without being OTT.

The food is Finnish modern I suppose, classic Finnish recipes done in a more modern style. It's delicious. I had blood pudding with lingonberries, pork cheek and tongue although it's not an offal heavy menu. Dish of the day from what the table had was the pike dish.

I liked the fact you can hear what's happening in the kitchen that is separated from the dining area by a 3/4 wall. I also like the fact the chefs were approachable and happy to discuss the dishes (in English although we were with locals).

For Helsinki I think it was reasonable at €125 per couple. The wine list was accessible and we had some good Pinot and perfectly nice Malbec at €37 a bottle.

Go here you won't be disappointed.

This week I've been in Scandinavia eating, some great places

In Helsinki this was one of them, the other Olo and a. Opulent in compensated too, I'll write a note on them

Kuru a was a tiny hike in the wall with a very small menu

The decode was basic but nice, cozy and welcoming, it implied welcome not expense

Two girls looked after the tables, they were great and helpful

Couple of chefs in the back, would have been nice if they visited tables, especially singles

Food simply delicious

So inexpensive I was shocked (pleasantly of course) nice opportunity to up buy

Ingredients local and tasty and creatively presented

Good wine by the glass

Service just simple and friendly

Loved it, better than some of the bigger names in Copenhagen

We'll located, easy to find, a MUST in Helsinki

This is small and very unobtrusive restaurant. I was invited here by a Finnish colleague.

The restaurant is very small with maybe 6 or 7 tables of different sizes, and with the kitchen also being very small, the menu is restricted, but nevertheless, I found no problem choosing something.

The food itself is very well prepared and presented, and certainly interesting. There are vegetarian options. It seems to reflect local produce and tradition to some extent: one of the choices included local fish together with a potato casserole with anchovies, which I was advised is a traditional Finnish dish.

The portions, however, are rather on the small side. I know restaurants in Finland tend to be rather expensive, but I was still a little surprised at the bill for only 2 people, with 3 courses each, one gin & tonic and one glass of wine each.

Service is excellent, being friendly (and English-speaking) and efficient. We were not kept waiting excessively long for anything.

Small and intimate place, reservation is nearly allways needed.

Menu usually have 3 options for every course, and some specials on chalk board.

Portions are quite small and overall quite average, nothing special or extremely tasty, but not bad either. Service and atmosfare are excellent.

Kuurna is a small restaurant in a quiet street close to the Orthodox church. It has a special concept: two servings, one at six and one at eight. The menu contains three choices and there are some additional choices available (such as an excellent tartar). The basic menu has itemes which are use local ingredients but have some international inspiration. The helpings are quite large so you will surely not leave the restaurant hungry. Fish is always a good choice and the fish in the menu was excellent. the atmosphere is a little cellarlike (especially the roof) so in the summer this is perhaps not the best choice for an evening meal. In any case, I warmly recommend the place. The service was very friendly and quick.
