A beautiful and unbelievably popular library located on a most central spot of the town, by the river. The modern part functions well with the carefully renovated old quartier. The coartyard cafe is a sweet spot on a summer afternoon, even when it is windy.

This place is both historic and modern. There is the older original building and a new modern addition to it.

They have lots of computers and places to study or read newspapers and magazines.

There is also a convenient cafe located inside.

I think the best part is you can borrow music CDs and movies, all for free!

I love the way old and new parts of the library are merged into a space ful of literature's joy and knowledge.

We first went here mainly for the use of computers and internet, but we returned again and again for the cool architecture and the relaxed calmness. The building is a beauty! And there are several nice hangout areas where you can read or just relax. The coolest library I've seen.

The building itself is a combination of old and new, like many people here have pointed out. The collection of books is great and quite big, and the staff is helpful. There are also computers you can use for free and I think there's a free wifi for your own device as well, I'm not completely sure. There's also a cafe (which I haven't tried yet myself). A great place to read international magazines and books in various languages and see some Finnish culture. There's also the music section upstairs where you can borrow cds and stuff. The atmosphere is peaceful.
