“"Lamb in the well "”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

We visited this hotel to introduce some family visitors to the hotels special meal of Lamb in the well .This is a very good dinning experience where lamb joints and vegtables are slowly cooked over 6 hours in a large well . We have enjoyed several visits previously, with family and friends The food was very good , the service was faultless and friendly , but our visit was spoilt by diners at an adjoining table smoking whilst we were eating our meal , at one point the lady on the table was spooning food into her mouth and then drawing on her cigarete .The sooner the family owners of this hotel and restaurant stop smoking in any dinning areas the more the experience will be enjoyed by every one - including me .

We were here for 3 weeks & friends came out for the last two. They love it now as much as we do. Very clean modern rooms, lovely location & the staff are all a credit to the family owners. The Sunday lamb in the well is a must! We have all booked to return September this year - need we say more?

We stayed at the Denizkizi Hotel for 10 days from the 6th - 16th May 2014 and we will definitely be returning. It tick's all of the boxes in terms of location which is closely accessible to Girne (Kyrenia) etc, the sandy beach which is beautiful, cleaned each morning and no matter where you're sitting on the sun lounger, is only a few steps into the sea. The rooms with breathtaking views (we stayed in sea facing 214 & 322) which are spacious, up to date with a safe, fridge, flat screen tv, walk in shower and spotlessly clean. The pool is very big, again spotlessly clean and surrounded by very pretty gardens. The breakfast & dinner which should meet most's peoples requirements, is varied and tasty and the front & back of house staff very polite & helpful. Our holiday experience at the Denizkizi exceeded expectations and we would highly recommend a stay with a special thanks to Songul & Suleyman (reception).

Room Tip: Choose a room with a sea view on the 2nd or 3rd floor.

Me and my wife and 9 month old stayed at this hotel for 10 nights in early May on a half-board basis. We must say that we found the service excellent and could not fault anything about the place - the rooms were spacious and clean (the sea view rooms are amazing - such beautiful sights of the sun rising in the morning and the lovely blue sea water), the food always had a nice selection of fresh vegetables and fruit along with meats and/or fish, the hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, the pool was a very good size and the private beach was perfect to sit and relax on. The location is a short drive to Girne (Kyrenia) harbour and there are many restaurants / supermarkets along the way to stop at (would really recommend a fresh fish restaurant called Hurdeniz) which is run by fishermen.

Will definitely be going back here at some point.

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view are definitely worth the extra money

This is a very clean, comfortable hotel. We had a very relaxing peaceful, pleasant stay. The food was plentiful, varied and fresh. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us welcome. The sea view from our room was wonderful and the mountain backdrop to the hotel was breath taking. The beech was wonderful as was the hotel fresh water swimming pool which was pleasantly warm. Excellent value for money overall, the Turkish Lira went an awfully long way. We would definitely consider coming back to this hotel and area again!

The only couple of downsides to the holiday was that it was a very long journey when having to land in Turkey before carrying on to Northern Cyprus. We suggest anyone thinking of going look into other alternatives. One common problem seems that if you arrive at the hotel late at night after the restaurant has closed there is no provision of food for you. Our rep. said that there would be sandwiches available for us which was not the case. It's not much fun arriving at around 11.00pm very hungry and tired to be told there is nothing for you. If you're stuck there's a place called Chicken Run just up the road. Listening to other guests talking to their reps. this is a problem that is well know about and is not being tackled by the hotel or varying holiday companies.

This is a family run and most friendly hotel. On arrival we are immediately relaxed. The hotel has a lovely setting with well-kept gardens around it.The beach is excellent for small children and adults. Excellent swimming in the bay.The beach-bar serves a good variety of food & drink and allows one to spend the day at the beach without having to return to the hotel. There is also the excellent full-sized swimming pool with a bar, perfect for relaxation. The hotel meals are just what we want with plenty of salads and fresh fruit. We return here every year since 1982. Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the beautiful bay we always choose
