We had seen Citrus Tree in the past when staying at another hotel in the area and had eaten there on a couple of occasions. We thought it looked our type of hotel (small and quiet), so decided to book for our visit this year. We are very glad we did - it certainly lived up to its reputation. Mustapha, Lesley and all the staff gave us a very warm welcome.

We had a slight issue at the outset - we thought we were staying in one of the villas, whereas it turned out we had booked an apartment, which is in the main building. This, however, was a misunderstanding with the tour operator which we will need to take up with them and not the fault of the Citrus Tree management. Mustapha and Lesley were very accommodating when we asked to change our room, given the hotel was pretty full and although we couldn't get a villa, we finished up with a pleasant room which had a balcony and a 'through draft'. Everyone mentions the water cooler/heater in the rooms - what an excellent idea - no need to keep buying bottled water - just fill up an old bottle and you have ice cold water on tap! This is certainly something other hotels should look into.

The pool and its surroundings were excellent, clean and plenty of sun beds.

The dolmus service which runs past the hotel is excellent - a 3 minute wait would probably be cause for complaint!!! An easy run into Kyrenia, but if you want to see more, then a car is a must. The car hire from the hotel is extemely reasonably priced, even in high season.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will certainly be back.

Room Tip: Make sure you know what you've booked before you go. The apartments (7) are hotel rooms on the first floor of the hotel building. Most are a good size and very airy, with a balcony. However, 5 of them overlook the front of the hotel and the main road and come with the steady noise of traffic. The villas are the split level maisonettes situated around the pool and will be much quieter, traffic wise.

Stopped here for the first time and had a very nice, quiet weekend. We stayed half board and while there was only 1 choice of meal the food was very nice. The breakfast selection was nice and fresh with cooked bacon and sausages for a little extra if you want them. (Make a very nice bacon sarnie).

The hotel was clean and tidy, the pool was checked and cleaned every day and the rooms were spotless. We had a 'villa' style room with an upstairs bedroom, just a few steps from the pool and outside dining area. The furniture was all new and modern. Our shower was a bit hit and miss and a couple of hotel soaps would be a nice extra but we are being very picky here.

You are allowed to bring your own food and drink into the hotel, even take-aways, providing you don't try to eat them by the pool. More than reasonable in my book. Bar and menu prices are very reasonable too.

There is a sports room where rugby and football are shown and it has a bar there as well.

The reception area is very nice with plenty of comfortable armchairs and another bar!!!

Internet reception is quite patchy so you may need to forget emailing etc etc.

Situated 15 mins from the centre of Kyrenia, a car would be needed but I understand these are available, but do check.

Mustafa the owner was nice and helpful and Leslie the chef does cook a mean meal!

We were very impressed and have already booked to return in a few weeks! We would highly recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: The villas are self catering style with all you need. Bedroom upstairs.

We booked Citrus Tree Gardens for a long weekend after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed! We had a wonderful relaxed weekend. It was nice to stay somewhere where you do not feel you are being watched just for bringing a bottle of water on to the premises which sees to be the norm these days.
The rooms include a little kitchenette with fridge and there is no problem bringing your own food and drink to be consumed, in your room, of course.
Mustafa, Lesley and the other staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble and you are always greeted with a smile.
The rooms are nice and clean, we were in a spit level room, bedroom on mezzanine and kitchen, bathroom and little lounge below. We had our own veranda with a couple of chairs, table and clothes airer. Hot and cold water is available with a water machine for a small charge and this saves having to shop for your own.
The food was very nice, plenty to choose from at breakfast and a good menu, we chose the half board menu which was very nice and very good value for money. In fact everything about Citrus Tree Gardens was excellent value for money.
Nearly forgot, they have Billys Sports Bar for all you football, rugby and other sports fans.
We are going back in a couple of weeks time and I'm sure Citrus Tree Gardens will be seeing a lot more of us in the future as we like long weekends away and to be honest we have tried many places in North Cyprus and Citrus Tree Gardens is hard to beat particularly on value for money.
