Looking for a good place to satisfy our seafood cravings, we chose this restaurant after seeing the reviews on trip advisor. The food is executed splendidly, simple but beautifully cooked. We each ordered the cod fillet which came pan fried in a large skillet with seasoned potatoes and vegetables. The fish was delicate and light yet contained mountains of flavour.

While we waited at the door, no one looked at us or spoke to us for 10 minutes. Finally, we were grudgingly seated. The waitress was nice and the service was pretty fast after that. We had the ocean catfish and it was very good.

We ordered rainbow trout and black spotted catfish, the dishes were unreal. The best seafood we have ever tasted.
The service was excellent! Such friendly and knowledgable waiters.
Beautiful atmosphere.

We were very very pleased with our meal here. The ingredients are fresh, and the dishes are not overly fancy, and very well done. My husband had the cod and I had the salted cod -- both came sizzling in skillets with vegetables. It was simple but delicious. They know what they do well here.

An added bonus is the friendly, welcoming service.

We would recommend this place to any of our friends.

Tip: Make a reservation. They have many tables, but they seem careful about only seating as many as they can serve well. We saw quite a few people getting turned away, or being told that there was a 45 minute wait.

To summarize upfront: The food was good or even very good, but the service was a big problem.

Details: We came around 9 pm without a reservation. We were told that they would have a table for us by 9:20 pm. Right after we entered the restaurant, a small family came, who didn't have a reservation either. We came back at 9:20 pm and were seated at a table and given the menu. The first time a waitress came to look after us was at 9:40 pm, and we were able to order. By that time, the small family who came after us was already eating.

The food came relatively fast then. For the starter, I had a salad which was good and fresh. My husband had the cold meat platter, which was very good, too. However, when we asked for bread, we were told that they were out of bread. We agree that this can happen, but you absolutely have to warn your guests when they order dishes like a cold meat platter! My husband wouldn't have chosen it if he had known that there was no bread available.

When the main courses arrived, I ordered a glass of wine and my husband another beer. The waitress forgot about this order, and it came only when we were done eating. At least we were not charged for these drinks. Additionally, the wine had been open for some time already (still drinkable, but slightly oxidized), and they were out of the beer my husband had before, so he had to change to another one. Regarding the food: I had the trout, which was of very good quality. The preparation was a bit too greasy for central European standards, but, according to our Iceland experience, normal for local standards. My husband had the cod, which was good and greasy, too. There was no catch of the day available.

Not surprisingly, we didn't choose a dessert, but just left after a looooooong and a bit frustrating dinner.
