Stayed over Christmas with wife and two small children on Ground floor. No space at in-laws, who live locally, and with most hotels in the surrounding area not practical for multiple children, we gave this a try.
Alex and Graham couldn't have done more to welcome us on arrival day, and were on hand throughout for any routine matters, which made the fundamentals of the stay very easy. Views over the Dordogne are uninterrupted and first rate, no doubt less bracing in the high season!
Property is really good - plenty of space, beds and bathrooms in good order, all electricals working fine, and plenty of crockery and utensils. No microwave (in case you are in to that sort of thing!), but enough pots and pans to cook yourself happy.
Nowhere in the St Foy La Grande streets is more than 5 mins away realistically (baker, bank, playground, town square etc). Saturday market is always a good craic, though I have been in and out of town for 16 years, so would say that! Quick exit in both directions on the main roads, so Bergerac and St Emilion/Bordeaux are easy prey for anyone with those ambitions.
If you are looking to stay in this vicinity (between Bergerac and St Emilion), this is a great mixture of value and serenity, where you will be well looked after by a cracking couple of proprietors in an updated yet authentic, spacious pad
